Not in our life time. The problem is that Africa is much further behind the West and East Asia so that by the time they do approach that level much of the world will be far more advanced.
In all honesty, Africa needs a major cultural shift and FAST. Tribalism and corruption hinders any progress and only makes the continent more exploitable by everyone else. Ironically tribalism and corruption were the fundamental reasons why the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and the Arab conquest had such disastrous effects. In many African countries tribalism and corruption go hand in hand, where one tribe is placed in power and favored over the other. This breeds more corruption, conflict, and dissent.

Congo- if they combine, have great leadership, nationalize their resources like Saudis and build a strong military, and improve education as well as infrastructure. the Congo is the heart of Africa and if left to develop can provide access to south, central and east Africa in terms of trade with transcontinental roads. . Plus they have huge renewable energy potential that can provide electricity to a large % of Africa.

Angola-infrastructure on point but needs new leadership, Investment on Agriculture to lower prices, nationalize their resources like Saudis.

Tanzania have almost no ethnic issue and improvement on infrastructure is impressive. the new president is making vast improvement and tackling corruption.

Kenya- improving infrastructure and have a diverse economy, despite not having resources had improved their HDMI from poor to median in a few years, and also focusing on tech. Corruption is a problem.

Zimbabwe- good infrastructure, most educated African country with 90% literate, Needs a leadership change badly

The North African nations-Need reforms on education, race relations, economic, and religious freedom

As others have said, I think the "superpower" days are long gone, and its a good thing it is.

Isnt Nigeria building a super luxury district to attract the brightest minds from all over the world? Maybe that could help them..
