The NBA needs to have games on every channel possible. Including streaming. I only check the highlights on YouTube cause I can’t really watch these games fully.

Streaming is going be a part of the linear deals with WBD and Disney too. Don’t be surprised if they are exclusive games on ESPN+/Hulu like with the NHL and HBO Max. I think Amazon is the favorite if they carve out of a 3rd steaming based package. But I wouldn’t underestimate ViacomCBS or NBCUniversal. They include OTA in a streaming deal and NBA would love to be on multiple OTA channels like the NFL

The reason why the TV networks pay so much is to keep them away from the streaming services. Live sports is one of the few things keeping TV alive.

It is the only thing keeping TV alive these days.
