Get It How You Get It
Capitalism isn't democratic, so no
I wanted to ask you guys this today. So, do you ever see the United States being a TRULY Democratic society where it's not ruled by corporationsBecause it seems that every decade we have a fight to defeat something. In some ways, I think the oligarch rule may come to an end in years to come. Tell me what you think. It has to be a day in time where shyt like this STOPS.
Summary - Basically, the oligarchs rule over our country and we have an illusion of choices. Which is all bad for you, but in degrees. Like there's so many levels of hell.
Respublica v. Sweers (1779)
1 U.S. 41 (1 Dall. 41, 1 L.Ed. 29)
The first exception was, 'that, at the time of the offence charged, the United States were not a body corporate known in law.' But the Court are of a different opinion. From the moment of their association, the United States necessarily became a body corporate; for, there was no superior from whom that character could otherwise be derived. In England, the king, lords, and commons, are certainly a body corporate; and yet there never was any charter or statute, by which they were expressly so created. An indictment, however, may be sufficiently maintained upon 'an intent to deceive my liege subjects;' and to that purpose there is a positive authority, not referred to by the council, where a person was indicted, for having in his custody a piece of base metal, in the similitude of a six-pence, knowing it to be safe, with intent to defraud the liege subjects &c.
I'm not against corporations. Like I stated, we need a fair balance. Money influences politics because corporations donate to politicians. How can we make it fair for the 99%.? That is my question.Governments, themselves, are corporations .... public corporations.
Public can be synonymous with government such as public office, public purse, public law, public policy, et al.
The United States was intended to be a:
a) Federation. This differs from a confederation which is what the US was prior to the U.S. Constitution.
b) Republic.
The States are republican forms of government as well.
A little legal history to open your eyes.
Body corporate is synonymous with corporation, corporate body, or corporate entity.
Private corporations really began to grow in power after the passage of the 14th Amendment and adjudication of the controversies arising therefrom.

Good idea.That is easy.
For starters, people have forgotten one of the checks on government .... the jury.
Specifically, jury nullification.
Drug laws could be ruled null and void overnight by juries failing to convict people on minor drug offenses.
People could organize to put forward their candidates instead of voting for those put before them buy organized interests.
Start becoming informed not just on the law side of government (legislative, executive, and judicial), but also the financial side as well (CAFR - Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports).
This would be easier to implement at a local level. I would start locally and then seek to "level up" over time.
Good idea.
True, and my point was in general we gotta start from the bottom on up. The corruption mainly starts at the local level and then works its way up.People have forgotten not only do you control the voting booth, but you control the jury box as well.
