The owners aren't negotiating based on past financial performance

They would negotiate based on future financial performance while weighing risk

Owners already assume most of the financial risk, while players are shielded from it

Can't have it both ways. Getting paid off the new deal isn't the same as backpay for the old ones. They need to drop the whining about the past and focus only on getting a fair cut of the new money that's apparently finally coming in. This t-shirt stunt doesn't seem to be hitting.

I also don't understand bringing up charter planes which doesn't impact their salary.

They definitely deserve more. It's not what it used to be. Getting a 9% cut of revenue is absurd.

Doubling the current contract money structure with all the new money should be feasible once the new tv deal starts. That isn't asking for much.

To me this is all nonsense until they can sustain their finances. 9% does suck
