If you in the negative breh it’s because you paying in luxury tax money lol you don’t get any money from that
Some teams are still in the red even if they aren't paying the luxury tax. The Grizzles were literally in that situation years ago and had to help take money from the league.

That's literally how the luxury tax operates. The haves can afford to spend more than the have nots.

No you're an idiot and a sexist. Profit sharing, revenue sharing is what kept the teams afloat no different than the WNBA, but again you OKAY for non box office players making 70m's a year.
That new CBA from the NBA is going to solve that problem, so it's a moot point what you're saying.

STOP

The NBA generated approximately $11.3 billion in total revenue during the 2023–24 season (which largely corresponds to the 2024 calendar year) nba.com+2sportsvalue.com.br+2sportsvalue.com.br+2.

To give you a more comprehensive view:

  • According to talkSPORT citing Statista, the league brought in $11.34 billion in the 2023–24 season talksport.com.
  • A June 2025 report confirmed that NBA teams collectively surpassed $11.3 billion in revenues for 2024sportsvalue.com.br.
  • Coverage in El País estimated revenues around €12 billion, which is consistent with the dollar figure once exchange rates are considered

Yea but I’m talking currently breh. The only teams in the red now are the luxury tax teams. Also interesting the nba gave the grizzlies a subsidy why not just have the fold the team considering they were unprofitable even with the revenue sharing. Outside of that I don’t And can’t find the league giving them money

There's obviously some creative accounting going on there even if they are being "truthful" and even if we were to believe it, they cite the reasons partially because of reinvesting into marketing and expansion costs which is only going to help propel the league further into more revenue streams down the road. This is all about the players trying to make sure they are seeing a reasonable piece of the pie before the league starts seeing profits in a few years. The players had to do a lot of the marketing themselves over the last two years to even get the league to the point it's at now. They deserve a much bigger cut than whatever it is, think I read something like 9%. Hell no. Now is the perfect time for the players to act.

I don’t think the nba ever said they lost 50 million did they lol. Adam literally said they only give them 15 million dollars in subsidies

ATL…overly
I first learned about revenue and profit in economics. And I'm banking on the fact that the league is expanding to 18 teams (13 right now) by 2030 and the 2.2 BILLION DOLLAR TV DEAL.

Why are you sucking owner dikk so hard right now? It's veryobvious the owners are making money hand over fist right now despite the past. Billionaires are fukking everyone over in this country, you think these women should just lay down and join the fray?

You been holding it down in this thread. Props to you

I know we’ve got a lot of dumbasses on The Coli but incredibly this thread has exposed even more of them. The CBA ends in October, and the current interest/star power + future revenue via the new TV rights deal + expansion makes this the optimal time for the ladies to use their leverage to fight for their earning potential. I don’t think they’ll get 50% of revenue though, but I think if they can get into the 40% range that’s a win

On KRS One's nose, eating sunflower seeds.

White American loves her. Rightfully so. More non-whites need to support the league in a bigger way, considering most of the stars are Black. People don’t want to admit that Angel caused an uptick in sales and exposure too for Black fans. Just not on Caitlin’s level. Also, the way they’ve been promoting the W over the All Star Weekend is all wrong. Too demonic.

The lack of awareness and basic math is appalling

And wild they their own agents and mangers would let them out there and do this.

If I’m a manager I’m saying hey this is not good for your individual brand

Whole message is so gen Z-ish

Sure, invent some random money to pay you more when your entire existence is essentially a welfare case.

Yeah, by everyone in this thread.

Three expansion teams just paid 250 million a piece to join the WNBA. The Liberty sold a 20 percent share of the team valued at 450 million.

Now yes, the WNBA did lose 40 million dollars in 2024, but this is in large part due to the TV deal they are currently signed to, which in 2026 goes from roughly 45 Million annually to 200 Million annually.

This will result in essence in the league making money over night from losing 40 to a net gain of 115M just on the TV deal alone. Even if the game and ticket sales were to stop growing, and merch stopped selling, it would still be in the green.

The players don't want to be paid what the men are paid. They want 50 percent of league revenue, as opposed to the 9 percent they get now. They won't get that IMO, but they're well within their rights to ask.

The owners want to keep salary increases small, plus end athlete-owned offseason leagues like Athletes Unlimited and Unrivaled (which nearly broke even in its first year). Why the fukk would you side with the owners?

I'm not siding with the owners. But it is basic math and lack of awareness. Expansion teams signed last month. Players signed 9% in the CBA 2020. 5 years ago during COVID.

They're mad at the CBA agreement that they signed. Negotiate better.

and let's be real. If they're paying what they owe Caitlyn Clark should make 60±% of revenue.
