WERE CODDLING THESE LESBOS BECAUSE THEYRE SUPPOSEDLY WOMEN.. TREATING THEM LIKE MAKE A WISH KIDS N THEY CONTINUE BITING THE HAND THAT FEEDS THEM

ANY OTHER LEAGUE WOULD HAVE CEASED OPERATIONS LONG AGO BEING THIS UNPROFITABLE

TV deal or no TV deal, the WNBA have been losing money for over 20 years. "Being in the green" for 1 year does not mean the WNBA is owed anything, especially if the NBA is taking into effect the amount of subsidizing they have been doing for the WNBA for those years, and looking for a way to pay themselves back

That tweet is there to drum up social media angst and so they have something to talk about in the Summer

It's fair, but the problem is that they've lost so much money over the years that the NBA is going to want a cut and return on their ROI for the subsidizing they did all those years. I know they want to break away from the NBA and do the deals on their own, but that's not going to happen unless they can come up with the bread to pay them off on their own and it not cut into their revenue.

I think that's the biggest point that the players are overlooking. People are looking at future money coming in and now what's already been spent helping them stay afloat till they turned a profit.
The nba never gave them the money as a loan tho. The nba is basically the parent company for the nba as Adam has said many times this is basically marketing the whole reason the league was made was because they wanted more female viewers and all that. So it’s not really a money thing for them it’s basically a marketing expense that they are now cashing in on heavily according to Adam in this one interview I saw him give.

The nba isn’t looking for a pay back the nba they made that money back and then some off the wnba growing the game on the female side and bringing in even more viewers. Same reason Adam trying to start an nba league in Africa and Europe your trying to grow your market base not turn a profit

We get it, you don't get pu$$y.
That's y'all standard playbook anytime somebody criticizes women behavior

Pathetic
All they want is 50% share which is fair idk what grabbing the rim has to do. Also you suck a math you acting like the nba gave the wnba a loan. With the new deal they aren’t gonna need handouts anymore also revenue from other avenues is rising as players are more popular. This the most hater shyt I’ve seen. Did you not read @phillycavsfan or @RedBull post.
Yes and I disagree. They haven't earned a 50 percent share. This newfound popularity is too recent for them to wear shirts saying pay us what u owe us. Being able to grab the rim and the speed of the players has to do with the inferior basketball they play. Do they deserve a bigger cut, yes, but they doing too much.

You do realize most of the can grab the rim or even dunk right lmao they just don’t because women knees can’t handle it, hell the men knees can barely handle it. Also tell me how many dunks are in your average nba game that’s not for a 7 ft big man

They helped invest in the league, which is essentially a loan. Years ago during the Griner situation, they were literally peddling donations to help pay the players more. Those businesses weren’t doing it under the kindness of their heart. They wanted a ROI.

You can’t go from begging the league for financial help on social media to not wanting to completely cut them out altogether and doing it on your own without their help as they have to get back their ROI along with everyone else that helped keep that league afloat all these year.

Silver isn’t going to tell the truth publicly, so I wouldn’t necessarily put stock in what he says.

During those COVID games, they didn’t call their own WNBPA rep for help, they called out the NBA.

Yeah, by everyone in this thread.

Three expansion teams just paid 250 million a piece to join the WNBA. The Liberty sold a 20 percent share of the team valued at 450 million.

Now yes, the WNBA did lose 40 million dollars in 2024, but this is in large part due to the TV deal they are currently signed to, which in 2026 goes from roughly 45 Million annually to 200 Million annually.

This will result in essence in the league making money over night from losing 40 to a net gain of 115M just on the TV deal alone. Even if the game and ticket sales were to stop growing, and merch stopped selling, it would still be in the green.

The players don't want to be paid what the men are paid. They want 50 percent of league revenue, as opposed to the 9 percent they get now. They won't get that IMO, but they're well within their rights to ask.

The owners want to keep salary increases small, plus end athlete-owned offseason leagues like Athletes Unlimited and Unrivaled (which nearly broke even in its first year). Why the fukk would you side with the owners?
Unfortunately with the exemption of crooked azz police unions, this country has basically turned away from organized labor completely through years of deregulation and deindustrialization. And the average American has been conditioned to accept the owners' position that X players/workers union is asking for too much regardless of their actual demands

Not the first time an all star game has been used to promote labor action either but dudes just wanna get their jokes off
