Woj mentions Bronny getting developed by Hurley

Bronny wouldn't even see real minutes on UConn, he damn sure not touching the court in a Lakers uniform if Hurley is the coach unless it's just absolute garbage blowout time

Dan Hurley trying to win games not develop a damn second round pick :russ:

I’m honestly curious if the Lakers heard people snickering about JJ and decided to pivot.. I don’t like this move at all

College coaches don’t work, but the Lakers are really about to spend $$ on a college coach when they never do and he’s gonna want to come to a rebuilding team in a year or 2?

What if he not being asked to mesh with Bron :sas2:
This! What if Jeanie wants to finally do things her way without appeasing star players? This move is showing that they are ready to move on from Bron. If Dan Hurley is a lock, then pay attention to his rapport with AD as well. If that is off, then AD will be traded for assets. They want Hurley to develop and build something for years to come. Bron and maybe AD won't be apart of those plans.

:mjlol: this dork has confidence in JJ but not Dan. Typical.

Also the Lakers offered Coach K a bag at one point, so committing years and money to a successful college coach isn’t a concept the Buss family hasn’t considered before. There was also Kevin Ollie rumors at one point as well years ago although i can’t remember if we ever had discussions with him.

Billy Donovan was seen as far superior of an option than Steve Kerr at one point. You never really know. "I know Kerr's experience as a GM, but still two different lanes"

Yea it seemed like Coach K was almost the Lakers coach that year or at least trended that way.

I’m not running with any bullshyt narratives. We are all adults and we can take the time to ask follow ups before copying and pasting your Rob hate list. If you think Rob Pelinka is a worse GM than Sean Marks then I don’t know what to tell you. And how does listing any of those other moves take away from what I said about Russ. All you did was post your Lakers-centric angst. I could literally show you 5 GMs worse than Rob in 5 minutes if I had the time.

But let’s take 30 seconds to talk about the foolishness of your post. Rob doesn’t let people walk for nothing by himself - he quite literally is part of the most hands-on front office in the NBA as Magic Johnson explained to you and one that also doesn’t want to spend. He has his faults and can be upgraded but calling him the worst is something only a Lakers fan would say.

For comparison, Sean Marks has failed to add any sort of big man with size to the Nets for a decade. Which is why he had to keep signing over the hill veterans for depth. He has been at the helm of 5 different head coach hires including his friend Steve Nash. He traded away all of his team’s depth for James Harden and then traded James Harden away from Ben Simmons without performing a physical so Ben could not play. He traded away Kyrie Irving for DFS, Spencer and some average picks. He turned down 4 first round draft picks for Mikail Bridges. He then turned down Jalen Green and all of the Nets picks they gave up for Harden for Bridges. He signed Cam Johnson to a deal of like 22 million a year. He consulted Joe Harris on team decisions. JOE HARRIS. He buys high and sells low on everyone.

He assembled a roster so small Bruce Brown was playing PF. He hasn’t had a back up PG or wing depth in years. Royce O’Neal had to bring the ball up the court. Like what are we talking about?
A couple days ago, @GreatestLaker was in the Lakers thread saying nobody knows whether JJ is a good coach and we shouldn’t attack him (it was clearly a Klutch hire). In this thread, he’s already being negative because this is obviously a Pelinka hire. :mjlol:

This is exactly like the Russ trade. Woj saying one thing, LeBron’s mouthpiece saying another. We will see who wins out this time.

The Lakers were all in on rebuilding around Kobe with Coach K. He even made a formal statement turning it down.

Buss family wants their next Phil, someone who can stick around for a long time. Coach K couldve been that guy, they obviously wanted Luke to be that guy and I guess the next shot is Dan.

I don’t like JJ either.. I wanted Ty Lue, but people like you didn’t want the Lakers overrun by Klutch

Kinda wild the possible domino effect if that happened.

Agreed but Lakers have attempted to do this in the past though it just never went through...
In 04 when they lost Phil they went at Coach K with a big deal but turned it down
A few years ago they went after Juwan but he wanted to coach his sons...in hindsight Juwan should've took the money but I get it
