So many parents, single and married/in relationships feel or felt like this though. That's what none or a vast majority of them will never admit. People really don't understand how hard parenting is. Some go into it thinking or predicting it'll be one way. In reality nothing prepares you for it.

While I think she's courageous for saying it, she also needs to go to counseling. Keeping those feelings bottled up is very bad, even deadly for the kids and the parents. Kids can feel when they're a burden. She doesn't want to put that on them because this is her issue not theirs.
This is also why birthrates are going down. Women are reevaluating what they were told they “had” to do and a lot of shyt is getting left by the wayside.

That’s also why you see 40 year olds still talking girls trips and delaying that shyt until their ovaries are damn near dust nuggets. Not gonna lie, this is a hard sell for a lot of women these days when they see other chicks attending Essence music festival and traveling and turning up on the gram.

:yeshrug: But at the same time, women need to know themselves. Because if you want children, even with technology, that’s a young woman’s game. Nobody wants to be 50 running behind a teenager.:mjlol:

I think motherhood is beautiful but a lot of women look at this shyt and the lack of empathy for this job and they saying “no bueno”.

Also that “I feel like I can’t breathe” line is terrifying.:picard: One chick said her entire identity was absorbed by wife and motherhood. :picard:
My wife said the same shyt. Even tho I share in the duties of raising our daughter and the primary bread winner. At the end of the day you have accept your responsibility as an adult despite how yoh feel. Thats what makes you adult compared to a child. This goes for men and women. shyt I would love to fukk off my responsibility and be selfish but I wouldn't have shyt in the end

Yeah I think people need to REALLY think shyt over before they make decisions with lifetime repercussions. That’s also why people in my family don’t pressure or shame people into doing shyt.

A lot of people get into these situations because they think this is something they “got” to do instead of taking their time, and figuring out if it’s something they actually want. Kids are a lifetime commitment. They didn’t ask to be in this world and those duties can take over.

The other part of this conversation is understanding balance and parenting. Sure you sacrifice for your family but that shouldn’t mean the extinction of your identity. Kids actually benefit from seeing their parents be dynamic individuals. There’s an order to this stuff.
