Yes it does. You're going to come across at least a few hundred people in a few weeks. If you're social and outgoing, a lot more. Not one attractive person in that massive group sounds pretty damn far fetched. Unless you have some ridiculous standards.

I disagree with that take @CarmelBarbie , I'm not gay ( I would have no problem admitting this), but gay men I know are highly selective for appearances. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure ugly guys eat a lot. But the simple fact that gay men will check for body fat %, when I couldn't dream of most women even being aware of what bf% you need to hover around for visible abs and striations, leads me to that conclusion. I mean, you can typically tell if a guy is gay or not just by how well he takes care of himself, from fitness to cleanliness. There are studies to support that as well, that gays are the most selective for appearances.

I'm not gonna men v women it. but this is the core of the issue. I got plenty of friends who will talk themselves out of attempting to talk to somebody. "Ohh they look too stuck up"

I agree. Beyond relationships, whether it’s their professional careers or new hobbies/interests, people talk themselves out of opportunities.

I believe it either stems from imposter syndrome, low-self esteem, and refusal to get out their comfort zone OR a pompous attitude to where they feel they’re above anything presented to them.

This has never been the case for me but I can easily believe it for people in cities while attending the gyms that attract beachbody types. I just have to get out of this state The gyms I attend, or the one I'm currently in membership with, is one of those powerlifter focused gyms, so most people are coming in at 20+% bodyfat and are uncouth people in general. But, these gyms are cheap as hell, never crowded, and have every simple thing you need for both isolation and powerlifting focused people.

I could imagine attending gyms in some cities, Golds, or those insanely expensive gyms, is more about meeting people than anything else because at those rates, a rack and a bench would save people a lot of money.

I amended that post later on in that thread and I said that I was only speaking for myself and my friends because I can’t speak for all women. I’m bisexual and find women more attractive than men so I’m sure that’s a part. In addition What’s attractive is subjective, it also boils down to location, age range etc.

@Peachstate and @Amaris thank you lol. I want women fonts opinion on this so I can confirm if it’s just me and my girls and the female acquaintances I know that feel this way or if it’s more women who can attest to this.

I don’t see how men are in here speaking for women in the first place. Y’all aren’t women so….I’ve worked with enough gay men and saw them get excited over men that women didn’t even notice or didn’t care about too, so nah while some are picky, I’ve noticed that they find more men attractive than the straight women I know. Gay men have sex more than anyone. If they are pickier than women, then why are they fukking any and everyone they can?
