I'll give you Tip and Jeezy but Ross you buggin'

In fact nikkas saying Ross slowed down with music is disingenuous
cuz if you literally look at threads in here from 2013 - 2016, nikkas said he was dropping too much music for his position in the game

Compared to Gucci who sat down for most of the decade. He obviously gonna be working more to gain interest wit newer fans

Also Black Bo died, and Ross had heart attack allegedly (from his son momma) and not phenomena as reported in the media

Him not being everywhere is understandable. We also gon act like Ross feature verses this year haven't been :damn:

Gucci invested in the youth more than T.I and Jeezy did. So the youth who is now relevant from ATL,has returned the favor by putting his name out there, boosting his profile.Outside of ATL it was never close with Jeezy,T.I and Gucci. They clearly had a bigger impact than Gucci even though they tried to force Gucci into the mainstream w/ good placements. Both Ross and Gucci were rejected in that sense.

The numbers speak for themselves, the impact spoke for itself. Gucci always was and always will be a poor mans Lil Flip.

Comparing Gucci to Ross is ridiculous.

Ross is in a way different lane. He does a couple street songs per album whereas all of Gucci songs are street. Gucci ain’t making songs like “Santorini Greece”

Lies them a tell

Forget flows and bars you have people making they’re own Gucci remix...

.

And countless others I can name you flows and songs that got sharked from him... Ross even took his “Hugh” grunt from Gucci .

Gucci and Wayne made rap fun again while everybody was so serious. How tip, jeez , and Ross ahead when they have no direct influence.

Where are they’re migos , Soulja boy , Chief, lil B spacghost, shy glizzy ...

Even Tyler the creator and earlsweatshirr were big Gucci fans.

Timing is everything :wow:

I remember when brehs would mention Wop in their class and he was at the bottom of the list despite his longevity, influence, and impact on the culture.

Now Ross, Jeezy, & Tip are struggling to find their voice with the new rise of younger artists in the game.
gucci got a top billboard hit? i musta missed something

Terrible thread. I could understand if you had numbers to back up this claim but Gucci can only dream about going platinum and that's not counting streaming.

Not at all. When all of those rappers were poppin', Gucci wasn't a factor. Even when Gucci tried crossing over 10 years ago, it was a failure. Where Gucci was able to be relevant is that he resonates with this generation more so than any of them do. The how and why is because when they were poppin', Gucci was cultivating producers who built their sound around what T.I. and Jeezy were doing. Then Ross came in and had success with "BMF" and "MC Hammer" (which features Gucci) that made trap the dominant style of production. Gucci style is perfect for that wave, which is why he's relevant than the three of them are now. Still, the other three all had instances where they were either #1 or close to being the #1 rappers in the game. Can't say the same for Gucci.
Brilliant summation :salute:

You really thought being a direct influence over some of the biggest laughing stock, wack rappers of this past decade would sway me:mjlol:. Other than Migos all those nikkas suck ,and Migos flow is not Guccis and they are actually very talented.

Plus if you want to give credit for wackness,Jeezy opened the door for wack ass nikkas like Gucci Mane to even exist:gucci:. Jeezy has no direct influence?have you ever heard of trap music?do you not remember the wave of wack nikkas that became acceptable and the dumbing down of hiphop that was going on,in order to adjust to Jeezys wave becuase he was such a force?do you not realize the Atlanta rap scene has been thriving for a decade in part because of them? All you proved is Gucci had an influence over kids like Barney did, with the silliness and simplicity of his records, and child friendly "fun" subject matter and especially sound.

Labels was scouting wack nikkas on the strength of Jeezy,so all wack nikkas can thank him. Jeezy was actually pretty skilled and proved it in the end.

Bro 'nem
nikkas would bump ti jeezy and ross in the midwest
Extremely false. nikkas in the HOOD treat Gucci like they'd treat jesus, I know because I used to hate him simply because everybody else worshipped that nikka. Would go over my fammo house and he got some hood dvd of Gucci cooking dope with naked hoes and freestyling. Go on the bus to school and nikkas playing that fukking photoshoot song the fukk out. TI was making songs with Rihanna at that time and Ross hadn't dropped BMF yet and was rapping over soulful beats. The highschool teenager was not fukking with any of them. The most influential Midwest nikka in the last like 5 years is keef and he's a child of Gucci. You got young chop talmbout Gucci could come to Chicago and stop the violence :dead:
