Gucci will go down as a sambo caricature of the ghetto who initiated a culture of trash drug rap.

T.i and Jeezy will be looked back on as street poets who inspired millions of blacks to grind their way to a better place in life.

Not at all. When all of those rappers were poppin', Gucci wasn't a factor. Even when Gucci tried crossing over 10 years ago, it was a failure. Where Gucci was able to be relevant is that he resonates with this generation more so than any of them do. The how and why is because when they were poppin', Gucci was cultivating producers who built their sound around what T.I. and Jeezy were doing. Then Ross came in and had success with "BMF" and "MC Hammer" (which features Gucci) that made trap the dominant style of production. Gucci style is perfect for that wave, which is why he's relevant than the three of them are now. Still, the other three all had instances where they were either #1 or close to being the #1 rappers in the game. Can't say the same for Gucci.

:childplease: he's more relevant because Atlantic is pushing buttons for him, same way they did with Cardi. That's how they make it seem like someone is "everywhere". They use their connects for certain artists. Usually the onea they're pimping the hardest

Actually, the moment he got his life together and started growing more as an artist negates your claim

It would be dope if he played a role in helping these younger artists get off the lean

You mean the lifestyle that his label and their PR dept created to rebrand their product? All the music I heard from him is the same super ghetto, super ignorant hood shyt.

I'm talking about the music, not what nikkas post online to give the fans a story to buy into.

Their product?

I’m not talking rebrand, from a superficial standpoint. This isn’t “Nasty Nas to Nas Escobar by my new album”

He cleaned his life up. If you think it was bad idea, or Atlantic recommenced it, to each his own.

His personal trials and tribulations are almost synonymous with his runs, dips, and peaks.

His current run is no doubt associated with him cleaning his life up and maintaining the focus and drive that kept him in these discussions.

I see you ignoring my whole point is about his music since you can't defend that .No one will be looking back 10 years from now celebrating him marrying a stripper. It's the art that determines legacy and his art along with Lil wayne influnced the beginning of the worst era of hip hop....& Maybe it's death.

Go back and listen to Mr.Davis and tell me you don’t notice a more mature Gucci

I’m talking content

He’s also growing as an artist, I said that several times. I’m not ignoring any of your points sir.

Doesn't lapped mean, passing someone twice?

The idea that Gucci Mane has even passed any of those guys even once is mind blowing to me but each to their own I guess.

lmao @ gucci being a third tier regional artist who no one cares about and never had a run :dead:

i swear thebooth is the most out of touch forum on everything hiphop.

except 1 out of the 3 has actually pushed, put on, made the lives better and influenced others to make a way for themselves much more than the other 2.

gucci's legacy is fine. the man in your avy however will only go down further into vlad's couch as the cushioning gives out.

Lord Jamars interviews have been more mentally and spiritually nourishing than anything Gucci has ever dropped.

All the people he influenced are drug addicts and their music is trash foh.

Jeezy and T.I.s impact was felt around the world and inspired way more people. Gucci put on the halfafag skirt wearing pill addicts trap "rapper". That's not a greater accomplishment.

You’re not listening

Please listen to the music before you make baseless claims. IMO, the most impressive variable is the progression in the content.

If you aren’t doing your due diligence it’s really hard to engage.
