You’re arguing with the one person about Microsoft’s vision that you shouldn’t :skip:.
Not arguing just giving perspective.
The literal kickoff two weeks ago was all in on AI and cutting low performers. That doesn’t scream the modern gaming industry now does it? :pachaha:
When you consider A.I is the next “revolution” in the modern gaming industry. Then it makes sense that it all works together.

they spent however much since 2020 to get gamepass to this spot. Spotlight is on Xbox due to those billions spent. It's more than simply "increasing revenue".

Number goals get real inflated when spending that much.

I'll be the first to admit good first party games have been coming out at a nice clip this year. They need to keep it up.

You're a legend Meach

Look, the line went up lol

How it went up, why it went up, what did that come at the expense of, what are the long-term ramifications?

These are all questions that may or not matter to the average consumer, and I doubt they matter to decision makers at the org when the stock is looking how it does. All of this shyt is reactionary

I think gaming as an industry is different, and the brand pivoted in a way that alienated most consumers. Fandom drives the gaming narrative. The entire business model of Xbox has reacted and fell forward. Maybe that merits him continuing, I don't think that it does

I think that there are brighter minds who can confidently speak to the public on what's happening over there and they can swap him out lol
Fandom is what drives these online conversations.

The things people are actually spending money on does not hold up to these conversations.

Xbox is in position for the future.

It’s why Sony is now making xbox moves despite winning the console war.

There’s 4 billion gamers in the world.

Only about 200 million of them are playing on consoles.

Any gaming company that looks to be successful in the future needs to speak the the 4 billion, not the 200 million.

Out of the big 3 microsoft is in the best position to reach those people. Thats the current reality. Console wars be damned :manny:

I will admit that the games are finally rolling out in the last year or so from these acquisitions and being multiplat only benefits gamers

I ain't that much of a hater lol I still keep my old 360 lying around for some games that are locked on there

And this is where the numbers look funny in the light lol

How much is the average PlayStation or Switch consumer spending on their respective platform versus Xbox? Has that number been going up?

But those revenue charts from earlier....

It came out in court that xbox profit margin is greater than playstation.

It’s not talked about but Sony spends LOTS of money to win the console war.

They actually lose money on hardware sales, they spend(lose) lots of money on exclusive content, advertisements, etc.

Xbox rejected that grind and just decided to make money everywhere they can.

Sony is now, ramping up to do the same thing.

XBOX stans constantly brag about how little they spend :mjlol:

How is that sustainable? The reason I have gamepass is because why not? It's so damn cheap I don't even care about it. I drop money on Steam though. I definitely spend money on Playstation.

Just go 100% PC and be done with it, why yall mfs so loyal? I don't see the benefit.

Gamepass cost $240 a year.

If you could secure that much outa a large majority of your platform users every year, don’t matter how many games you sell.

Especially when you can still sell those games on other platforms :wow:

So basically just be a publisher and stream games right?

Meanwhile the brand is in the toilet lol

Hardware has failed, objectively, and you have charts that will show that as well

They have a war chest and spent enough to pivot to publishing to put on the service, that they also own

I think his credibility as a "gamer guy" is completely out the window
They always point to the revenue stream but when we ask about the actual profit that's when they deflect and talk about how Microsoft is a global company and they have their hand in so many other businesses too lol

That's 3.5 AAA games a year that cost $100-$200 milly a piece to make. It's unsustainable and that's why other developers aren't putting their games on there. Game Pass is great for small developers but for the larger developers you're cannibalizimg sales when your base is conditioned not to buy games because they want it on gamepass.
