Of course with all the games Sony has .....if they had a GamePass....it might bury Microsoft even more since they have a much stronger library of potential games. Imagine paying a fee and being able to play GoT, Demon Souls, TLOU 2 etc. whenever you wanted.

Gamespass is a sweet deal as a secondary reason to get an Xbox. It shouldn’t be your purported system seller. Thing is great when upgrading from an OG XB1, but damn, it’s literally an XB1 with a GPU/CPU upgrade

This is how you kill your console division. Over investment in your primary business model. MS runs the desktop world and they want to double dip.

Is it convenient for the consumer? Absolutely but then you have to ask yourself why you'd even need a console, when you can play the same games on PC.

Don't be surprised if the Series X|S are MS' last consoles. Its obvious the business model is more important than the vision.

For years, the excuse was Mattrick ruined everything with the One, like Phil wasn't involved, and he'd get things squared away in a few years (like a college football coach taking over and needing his own recruits). Six years later and they launched a brand new console with no exclusives.

The naming bullshyt from MS doesn't get enough heat. Why is it so difficult to just go XBox 1, 2, 3, etc.? XBox, 360, One, One S, One X, Series S, Series X. So similar and so confusing. No shot the average consumer is gonna know the difference between a One X, Series S and Series X when they walk in a store or look on Amazon.

Just like the Windows phone it’s only a matter of time before they put game pass on Sony and Nintendo. They need to be on these platforms if they want to reap the true benefits of gamepass. Look how crazy the switch is doing in Japan It would probably boost gamepass crazy over there if they had it on switch.

I think that would be the only way to make gamepass in its current state profitable with enough leeway to fund games that push hardware limits.

If they could reach 100 million subscribers across all platforms, they'd be rolling in cash but the service would have to be available everywhere for that to happen.

Fam, it already IS. Halo being a hot mess and getting delayed and multiplats going in favor of the 5 along with the goodwill from the previous gen. It was never going to be a real war. shyt was common sense. And cats be like Halo coming next year acting like the PS lineup and exclusive train gonna take a break.

If MS bows out, I'm sure another company will step in. Would Apple be willing to join the fray? Nintendo and Playstation aren't going ANYWHERE.

The console war only really exist to internet fanboys online. It just reflects people’s need to insert tribalism into everything. In reality there’s space for multiple companies to do multiple approaches to the benefit of the consumer.

The one thing I've always hated about Microsoft is their "engineer's approach" to their products. Their releases always sound like some engineer came up with a codename and it just stuck. They rarely make sense to the everyday consumer and definitely is gonna have some kids disappointed with the last gen's consoles this Christmas There's no reason they shouldn't have a consistent/distinguishable product line 4 generations in. Sometimes keeping it simple is the easiest approach.

Yup. I honestly never bothered with it until recently and that was cause my 5 year old wanted to play some games and that shyt is dope as fukk. Sony really needs to promote that more.
