The "system" had nothing to do with him making a second half comeback against the Lions in the NFC title game. He had to improvise quite a bit and delivered in one of the biggest pressure games someone can have.
There's very few "elite" QBs. Purdy was never elite. He'll probably never be elite. He falls under that category of "good-solid" QBs which makes up about a dozen or so guys and they ALL get paid $50M/year. Only Baker got less.
