What part of my posts have been emotional? You're saying that to discredit what I've been saying. I'm making valid points. A $600 ps3 almost took out Sony and they were forced to drop the price, yet a $1000+ ps6 with no disc drive is going to sell very well? Sony themselves said the ps3 almost took them under and that was their mass market device. The ps3 demonstrated that the playstation brand is not strong enough to sell an overly expensive console otherwise they would have repeated that mistake with the ps4 and ps5. This was after the success of the ps2 with all the hype in the world. Sony was not stupid and priced the ps4 and ps5 accordingly after the disaster of the $600 ps3.Again you're being emotional instead of rational. Developers don't look at the cost of console when choosing to develop its how many units have been sold because those are potential sales for their title. The PS5 pro is considered a niche product and was designed for the consumer that wants the extra bells and whistles and the developers that want to push their game more. It's selling 5:1 which on the same pace as the PS4/pro model. If we go by your logic, then they would still be making PS2 games since it technically is cheaper than a PS5 lol. While price does factor into sales at the end of the day software will always be the deciding factor. PS5 pros were flying off the shelf just because people saw that RE9 look and ran better on their compared to the other systems. When the PS6 drops and it looks and runs better people are going to buy it. That's also not factoring in the system exclusives which it definitely will have.
Developers and those who are funding them consider what platforms to put the game on ahead of time. They are not going to want to spend $300+ million on an AAA game that's only exclusive to a $1000 console that's not going to sell well. A $1000 console guarantees all games including exclusives are going to be cross gen until they somehow get the price down.
Unlike the ps5 that dominated cross gen exclusive game sales, the average consumer would rather play the game on a ps5 or ps5 pro they already own or buy a ps5, assuming the ps5 pro is discontinued after the ps6 releases the same way the ps4 pro was after the ps5 released, than pay almost twice the price for a ps6 to play the same game. The reason for the former was because the ps5 released at $400 and $500 and people could afford the ps5 to play the superior version of the cross gen exclusives.
