It’s a percentage...it should stay consistent regardless of the marriage rate. Right?
If 4 out of 10 couples get a divorce, then it shouldn’t matter if that’s out of a million couples or 10 million. It would be roughly the same rate.

it's not that. I lost my mother at 18, so I'm a firm believer that human beings can overcome anything. If she leaves, then I was wrong. I was with someone for 7 years, lived together and everything and never once did i feel like i wanted to marry her. I asked my wife to marry me after 6 weeks

The divorce rate is calculated based on the number of people who are already married. The number of people getting married is irrelevant.
The real discussion we need to have is why brehs are so against other people getting married. If you don't want to get married, how is marriage being in decline a win for you?

but i was jaded from jump...literally NOBODY in family stayed married...and they were going through all kinds of fukkery when they were married...and were fukked up emotionally/financially after the divorce...like...where's the upside here?

I like the idea of marriage of being in a strong marriage with kids etc. but I just don't see it happening. I don't trust women enough to sign a contract that I see no benefit in.
