Not just AV club but also indiewire and THR etc.Who the fukk cares what the AV Club thinks in 2018?
If you asked me to say one "bad" thing about the ep, it's that despite being a movie's length, it's not on the level of any of the movies Sheridan has been involved in. Which is more of a reminder that this is only the beginning of a story.

Haven't watched but I really respect a lot of Taylor Sheridan's work, though I am weary of a white man cattle drama with Costner. I may have had enough of him as the stoic rancher, how many times is he going to play Frank Farmer in a cowboy hat?

The second ep definitely showed why the critics looking for prestige drama are hating this. In this episode alone Kayce accidentally discovered a dinosaur skeleton, drove by a coincidentally exploding meth lab and saw a metaphorical (but also literal) wolf become road kill. Given that co-creator/scribe John Linson is of Sons Of Anarchy fame, it really should come as no surprise this series is a lot more fukkery-driven.

They are supposed to be metaphors, be patient, the second and third episodes are going to be a step down from the beast pilot.so umm is this shyt boring to anybody else but me?

So I finally caught the full first twenty minutes, Gretchen mol been miscast her entire career, the moment they locked her up on boardwalk empire, that show might as well have put on a leather jacket and went waterskiing #hey
the governor got a nice ass on her, can't even front. That is the only thing I got out of working two months at target, all those hot women coming in there to buy nightgowns and lingerie. If you can't at least have those memories in a relationship, then what's the point
