That's the passion (the bolded). The rest is the CONSEQUENCES of that passion. You don't choose to fall in love; you just do.

You don't need to understand instrumentation to fall in love with jazz. It's passion, not reason... You don't need a reason.

It's not lazy talk, it's the very nature of a passion. I can decide to spend a lot of time to become a specialist in computers in order to make money. It does not make it a passion. A passion, by definition, has no reason.

If it's calculate, rationnal, it's not a passion. It's something else.
