You need tremendous lower body and core strength to be a major league pitcher. On top of the balance.

Strong arm is virtually irrelevant. I would doubt any major league pitcher could bench much weight or lift anything with their arms.

Pedro Martinez was 160 pounds in his prime. His arms were about as strong as wet noodles.

It's almost all mechanics and skill and repetition.
Someone in peak physical condition like Calvin Johnson with all his tools would be a total failure if he stepped on a major league mound.

I just posted twice in the ring today.

Thats a damn good question on the second. I never actually thought about it :ohhh:

closest I know is a expos minor leaguer who was ass so he had to dip before they sent him back to DR. He was like my third cousin though :mjcry:
