I fail to see what's so different. Slikk got on cause of reasons outside of music, just like how Yachty got on because his father was friends with Coach K, and because of his image (red braids). The majority of us know Lil Yachty is wack now. There are like 5 people on this site who are actually fans of Yachty's music. Yall stay conveniently ignoring the fact that the biggest genre of music out is going to have casual fans who dikkride trends. Loyal fanbases buy music, and none of these dudes have strong album sales because their fanbases are made up of casual fans who only play their music on snapchat or at parties.
I feel you. Silkk was forced down our throats. Yachty you gotta actually go out your way to hear his music

Those sales aren't because Kendrick and Cole are "great" artists, it's because they're heavily promoted and marketed as accessible rappers to the white kids that buy the music

Flabby n sick hip hop heads or young folks who prefer lyrical rap are some of the most entitled lazy music listeners I've ever come across. These dorks would have a fit if they listened to punk music and had to search for records from an obscure band from the 80s Or we're into other genres where finding shyt on the net wasn't so easily accessible :russ:

"Why should I have to search?" :mjlol:

Same dudes who sit and shyt on the mainstream and claim Cacs, big labels and the mainstream killed hip hop are the same ones who expect the same folks to deliver them "real hip hop" on their doorstep. So stupid.

The whole 'created their own lane' shyt is cool, but then 10,000 people copy that shyt. Just look at Future.

The songwriting.........whole different topic breh. But yea it's just god awful now.

I agree & the songwriting goes hand in hand with talent level as well. If you have a not that talented person rapping/singing over bad lyrics than you get hot :trash:

every rapper in faqlanta is connected to coach K Yachty isn't any different
that doesn't explain why he's hotter than most of them
NOBODY is forcing lil yachty because he's too much of an acquired taste to do that. people just fukk with his music

Y'all make the same threads every gotdamn day :mindblown:
How can y'all understand how to use the internet, but not understand the effects of the internet age on music? Mfs steady complaining about rap is trash, but the only things you quote to support that claim is the radio and the XXL freshman list. It's fukking 2016, everybody with a laptop can make music. If you want to find lyricists and shyt you have to do a little more than open up a magazine and expect the greatest rappers of this generation to be spoon fed to you.
Even that is a half truth, Kendrick sold 320k his first week with TPAB. Young Thug did less than 30k with Barter 6. Even Future the biggest trap rapper made less sales than Cole and Kendrick with DS2, so miss me with that, real rap isn't promoted bullshyt. Y'all wanna hear dope rappers but put forth zero effort towards finding them.

nikka stfu and respect this shyt that made our race prominent in this piece of shyt ass country. If you cant do that, then keep your dikk sucker closed on the matter. Just cause you like these shytty b*stards and they non rapping asses don't mean we out of touch. It means you fukk nikkas are trying to hard to make a lane for yourselves and your promoting sub par below average bullshyt because that's all the fukk you have to grasp on to. It don't make the music good, its still a crock of shyt.

I don't create threads on these wack new nikkas. If folks rock with them. That's on them. But when cats are sitting here throwing tantrums on why cats aren't discussing alot of the new generation. My question is exactly in the forefront is worth a interesting discussion? Where are these lyricists so I can take note? I go on Revolt, MTV Jams, BET Jams whatever the fukk is on to see whats popping with the current and the majority of these nikkas are on that same weirdo trap nikka wave. This is the only forum where I see this shyt actually propped up as if really dope because not even many 20 year olds fukk with this shyt like that unless its in the clubs or party atmosphere.

Who in the frontier of whats popping is worth a discussion?
Designer? :mjlol:
Asap Rocky?:mjlol:

French Montana?:mjlol:

Koondack Black?:mjlol:

Lil dikky?:scust:

Uzi?:scust:

Anderson Pakk?:comeon:

Some stud rapper name Gizzle?:francis:

A dusty Young Thug clone name KYNG:francis:

And yet you expect nikkas who came from the eras of Rocafella, Terror Squad, Ruff Ryders, Death Row, Ruthless, Suave House, Hypnotized Minds, Wu Tang, Rawkus, Soul Assassins, etc to automatically accept this? Man if you goofy nikkas don't get the fukk outta here :camby:
