Liquid bro I guess we all agree to disagree at the end of the day each sides see their pros to it. The companys are not fighting youtube because they want the free advertisement to a degree. Hell in a few months SoE will be doing awards for their biggest youtubes honoring players that even do play throughs... Dc even works regularly with a youtubers who profit on videos based on their game.
No, you guys are just going hard on this because it can affect your pockets.
I usually hate how publishers handle situations, but they are 100% right on this one.
You guys did not create the video game, you are BUYING the video game. NOWHERE does it state that you can publicly broadcast a WHOLE play through for the world to see. The fact that you guys are responding with shyt like "Well people don't HAVE to watch it" is ridiculous...no shyt they don't HAVE to. The problem is that they shouldn't even have the OPTION to watch the whole damn game from start to end with almost no interruption.
That constitutes as a "viewing" no matter how you want to slice it and it hurts single player games big time.

I am not against the youtubers monetizing their videos as long as its not a series in which they play the whole game from start to finish. Full game play "walk through" videos should be banned completely and I have yet to hear a good argument as to why those should be acceptable...hiding behind that "free promotion" argument doesn't hold.

I listed three major Soe streamers these guys not only are youtubes but the devs like them so much they do in game events with them such as tournys because they know all they subs will watch and get their game out their more.

But its to the point I feel game devolpers as a whole just want their game shared and they let people slide I can side with you though full play throughs are wild.
