Being able to pop out for a jumper is big but I though Mitch was slightly better on defense because of how disruptive he is (Mitch's talent on that end is incredible). Regardless of who starts though, it's nice to have 48 minutes of elite rim protection out there, it's a great luxury that most teams don't have. It's a lot easier to play with trust in your teammates and try and make plays when you constantly have a defensively elite big man behind you.
I saw that more as Noel being more committed to the team defense plan. If Mitch wants to start he needs to do what Thibs wants him to do. He can't just bank on proving himself a better player overall if he can't be trusted.

In other basketball news:

Melo looked good last night off the bench. I think the Blazers are going to be a top team in the west this year. They are so deep FINALLY.

That Convington trade for them was huge. I think he is exactly what they been looking for in a wing for at least a few seasons now. Honestly anything that gives the Mavs competition for a playoff spot is cool with me.

The key is the 48 minutes of Rim protection. I think the two of them are going to be vital to the team and Noel has a chance to be kept long term. Spellman as a low cost change of pace stretch 5 makes sense too.

Siddiq Bey was arguably the best looking rookie but that is because he is asked to do so little and did that well.

Wally needs to shut the fukk up about winning preseason games
I like Siddiq Bey alot. He was really impressive. I hope to see him and Bam play more games together.

Rewatching the end of the game and they run the pistons went on was because of randle and Payton . Elfrid is way to selfish offensively and looks for his shot and randles. No reason that Barrett scores then the rest of the possessions they never look did him and those two try forcing it
We as a basketball community focus way to much on stats and overall talent and not enough on fit. Just because Elfrid is the best pg ON the team, doesn’t mean he’s the best pg FOR the team.

I just KNOW Julius is satisfied with his game because of his stat line. People will see 6 assists and think that means he did good but it doesn’t reflect how awful the offense looked while he was out there.

Man, I like this Knicks team. I mean, I know how much we hate on Randle and Payton and all but I liked how Thibs was pushing the problems and concerns despite the win.

I liked the hustle of Frank and Knox.

I liked the way Obi played.

I liked the defense of Nerlens.

I liked RJs offense in the 2nd half.

I'm not even saying this because I'm a brooklynite. I actually genuinely like the tenacity and hidden potential in this roster.
