We as a basketball community focus way to much on stats and overall talent and not enough on fit. Just because Elfrid is the best pg ON the team, doesn’t mean he’s the best pg FOR the team.

I just KNOW Julius is satisfied with his game because of his stat line. People will see 6 assists and think that means he did good but it doesn’t reflect how awful the offense looked while he was out there.
I agree 100%. I think if Dennis steps his defense up, he should be starting over Elfrid. This should move Frank to backup PG behind DSJ. I also think based on Frank's aggressiveness, he's better as a 6th man for consistency in rotations. I think him and Burks would pair really well.

Agreed. Saw him last night and had instant sadness we didn’t trade for CP3 when we had the chance.
CP3 didn't wanna come plus we had nothing of value to offer. If these vets step up, we might get a good trade offer in the future. I'm looking at Burks and Bullock packaged with Payton or Randle.

I have a feeling RJ might be able to put up monster stats this season, but the elf and dubious handles won't let him :mjcry:

I think Frank and Austin would look good together too. That’s my ideal starting 5. Frank, Austin, RJ, Obi and Nerlens. Frank just focusing on disrupting the opponents pg so their offense can’t really ever get going and playing as a secondary ball handler so he can catch his breath a bit more is his ideal role. Austin RJ and Obi are a good scoring trio that should fit together and provide spacing for RJ. Nerlens playing clean up and rim running.

Kev still looks three point happy and didn't connect on any, looks bigger and handle looked better, had some nice passes, made a nice midranger on the move, still looked lost on defense

Frank played his usual brand of hounding defense on Killian and D-Rose, didn't look to force the issue as usual, jumper and movement looked smooth best he's looked in those regards fluid, had 4 TO's never got in rhythm missed some point blanks at the rim, you can still see him overthinking leading to those travel calls, as I said a few days ago THT is a better young player and showed it last night with his outing there's a skill/size/mentality advantage there, Frank's lack of physicality and burst and his passive mentality is what holds him back

Obi looked really good, like a young Stoudemire, very physical and aggressive trying to post and get those DHO's off, he's going to be one of the league leaders in front court touches one day, legit fast in the open floor guard like and his dunk was a pogo stick, spin move already looks unstoppable and he's got some crazy touch, the jumper looked knuckleball-ish we want to see him be a real outside threat he shot efficiently at Dayton but not on high volume, passing was really nice although later on got a lil reckless still only one TO and it was on a crosscourt three point line to three point line pass that may have been deflected, some good interior passes we saw it on a DSJ dunk, active without ball relocating and saving out of bounds balls and cutting, his shot I.Q. and knowing where to be on the court separates him from Randle he is a smart player who can direct traffic for teammates and create floor imbalances and mismatches he really has offensive anchor potential, got bodied by Jahlil a very big traditional low post 5 and picked up 4 fouls

Barrett the shooting was ugly early from the outside blasting off backboard and shooting air balls, needs to step in focus on the midrange ball to get going, he got hot he can put up points in bunches, we really need to get Randle and Payton off the team so he can get the reigns of the offense

I see what Thibs is doing with Nerlens and Mitch. 48 minutes of rim protection as of right now Nerlens is the more disciplined and conditioned player, Nerlens actually happened to be our best player last night.

I'm mad Thibs didn't play Quickley :camby:

Mitch better not be another JaVale McGee
knicks fans are :mjlol:
Mitch went from being untouchable and everyone having a crazy ceiling for him looking at analytics to him being expendable
allow the players to develop and grow that's why the knicks don't have shyt
you guys are always prisoners of the moment
Mitch is a big man they take the longest to develop and our coaching staff and development team has been a revolving door of garbage
the owner's mindset is reflected in the fans
Then when the player is gone and is put in a position to succeed like other normal teams like to do, y'all get mad :mjlol:
Mitch can be traded for the right price but I still like his potential the Pistons couldn't do shyt against him

His ceiling is rim runner/rim protector. It's not a crazy ceiling. The thought that this guy in 3 years its going to be taking mfs off the dribble and hitting threes it's ridiculous.

I think we would all like to keep him but you can't ignore the red flags, the thought of his archetype being replaceable or to be had with a cheaper alternative or if that's the big man type you want to have in general, there's contractual decisions to be made soon so he needs to be looked at with a critical eye. :manny:

:childplease:
If his game stagnates, he's a slightly better version of JaVale.
He was never untouchable to me
If he was a key piece of a trade package for LaMelo deal, I would've pulled the trigger :yeshrug:
This will be a pivotal year for Mitch. He's got one more year left on his rookie year contract before the Knicks have to fully commit him. I like his potential, but he should be able to outright win the starting job over Noel. And the Pistons aren't gonna do shyt on EVERYBODY. :mjlol:
