:ohhh:Don’t tell me DSJ made the leap

thibs thrives with small point guards

DSJ and Obi dunks with Mitch blocks would have the garden rocking :wow:
DSJ and Knox might've made that leap. If they did, I predict a starting lineup of:
PG: Dennis Smith
SG: RJ Barrett
SF: Kevin Knox
PF: Obi Toppin
C: Noel Nerlins

I'm not even sure how badly they're actually underperforming relative to their respective ages. If I could figure out how to export the stats for players aged 21 and under to excel, I could probably pull out some relative comparisons in half an hour that would be fun for future prospect discussions too. But what I generally see is that the studs of the 21 and under crew get propped up big whereas I think the majority of NBA players that young are not starting caliber, inefficient or both...but I'm speculating for now.
Knox and Frank are two of the worst

Horton-Tucker and Isaac Bonga are probably better than Frank :lolbron:

I'll say it straight out. If you tell me we can have Buddy Hield and be slightly better non-playoff team or we can have a shot at a top five pick in this draft class; I'm taking the lottery, new busted odds and all. I don't even have to think hard about it. Get these kids playing hard and learning defense for a season; hope to land a Cunningham or a Green or a Suggs or a Mobley; get yourself some Buddy Hield caliber players in Free Agency next season.
This team would still be in lottery potential top 5 with Buddy...

Pistons made Killian the starter before training camp even started.
Bad franchises tend not to get the best out of their picks... We had the third best player in the draft last year and we couldn’t put him in a situation to even make second team all rookie... but we want to pick apart our 20 year olds for not looking like the 20 year olds in good organizations.

Well, this is pure bullshyt considering Killian Hayes>>Frank. The Pistons are also not a good organization.

There isn't a single organization where Frank would be the starting PG from day one.

Barrett was snubbed from the team due to anti-Knicks bias.

Word!

I think for the older Knicks fans who are the same way, it’s the Mike Sweetney/Jordan Hill etc Trauma from having high draft picks that basically were bust for us....So now when a lottery pick doesn’t come out with a bang, the patience level isn’t there.

Frank and Knox were labeled projects...Those other picks were College made players who were expected to come in and contribute right away.

Knox and Frank are going to be good. Consistency is needed for young players. That’s THEE thing the Knicks have lacked.

At one point they literally tried to play Frank at SF

They had Moe Harkless playing over Knox

:mindblown: Who does these things to their project Lottery picks
Nah, breh, nah.

Porzingis was supposed to be a project and he had a strong rookie season, we were relatively satisfied with R.J.'s season, we anticipate Toppin will have a nice rookie season.

Knox and Ntilikina just aren't good.

For one, Frank has never really played the 3. He started one game there back in 2018. For his career he has at most played 1% of his minutes at the 3, you can literally look this up on B-R. Also, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Frank playing the 3 for spurts absolutely nothing. He has the size and wingspan to hang there if needed. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who has a similar physical profile to Frank played in a lot of 3 guard sets last year with CP3 and Shroeder as the teams SF, 17% of his minutes were at SF. This acting like Frank was done a huge disservice being put at the 3, it's B.S. and it's a myth.

Frank has played in 178 games, 51 starts, and averaged 21 minutes per game (if it weren't for excessive fouling and groin injuries his games and minutes would be higher). Frank has been a consistent member of our rotations for the last 3 seasons. Frank plays more than a lot of guys his age in fact. Frank has primarily been used as a PG with good reps off-ball as a SG. Frank is now under his fourth head coach and no coach sees him as a starting caliber PG, his own coach in the FIBA tourney did not start him as one of the team's lone NBA stars. Frank is a guy who should have been in the G-League or drafted to a contending team where he could be plugged as spot defender with strong offensive players around him and allowed to develop behind the scenes. Frank is a guy you draft from overseas who doesn't come immediately. A place like Toronto would have been perfect for him. The Knicks are not a good fit for him and he is not a lottery caliber player, he's a guy that was overrated due to having a long wingspan and the 3&D craze.

Yeah, Moe played over Kev. But that’s because Kev was comically bad in that stretch. Like 30% from the floor bad, shooting air balls no confidence, pain in his face bad. In the NBA teams don't allow that shyt. I still have faith in Kev but the truth is we was told from day one he had a low motor and couldn’t defend.

You can both be right

Evan is looking like the clear number two and potential number one pick. Definition of a modern big. He just has to avoid contact more when scoring inside

Greg Brown should fall between both Knicks picks but he is so raw he could fall to the Mavs pick. Great athlete, but not the greatest BBIQ. Him hitting those threes and driving are important, if he can play SF in the NBA he’ll be able to physically dominate at that position.

Can we stop with some of the pick talk ? We can talk about lottery talent players but giving up on th season before training camp opens is pathetic . I see pages of talk shytting on frank and Knox , caa etc , but minimal talk on what would be considered a good season for this squad and the young players . At this frank and Knox on the team as well as randle (:scust:) wishing them to be garbage as possible so you can say your right is stupid as fukk . It just makes us worse for longer and simply waiting for the draft will get us nothing potentially . Let’s live somewhat in the moment

Isaac Bonga is another dude I put in the category of Frank and Knox. Hella young, not fully developed to the point where he doesn't even have a clear position yet. But with too many damned tools and too young for the entire NBA to give up on him. A lot of the 21 and under crowd only play a couple minutes at a time so their efficiency numbers are skewed, but they're also a lot closer to out of the NBA than any of those three.

This team would still be in lottery potential top 5 with Buddy...

:mjlol:...you're prolly right. But if we're gonna suck anyway, then give the three point shots Hield would take to Quickley instead imo. Let the kids do all of it.

This team is bad breh. I’m not getting my hopes up again. I just want to see the young guys play meaningful minutes. That’s it. Idc if we win 12 games this year.
