How are the Cavs left with nothing when they have the player that isn't injured? If the trade is voided the Celtics are left with Thomas who may need surgery which would end his season. The Cavs made the trade not just for the BK pick but so that they can compete right now as well, if it were just about protecting the future they would have asked for guys on their rookie deals.

The Cavs without Crowder and that draft pick was more important to them than getting IT. Lets be real about that. That draft pick especially, because they need SOMEONE in their favor once LeBron leaves after this season. That's all rescinded.

No, every trade they have been linked to has them getting a starting PG in return as well as a wing + prospect/pick . They have a trade with the Bucks lined up that isn't as good but it is something they can fall back on, they have the uninjured player therefore they have the leverage.

Your whole post is the reason Ainge should and will just give the Cavs another 1st round pick to seal this deal.

He essentially has no choice.

Ainge is not going to renegotiate. It's not that desperate on his end. Would you rather give it ALL just for Kyrie??? Or keep what you have which was that Nets draft pick and Crowder?? He's not going to budge. Cavs on the other hand needs something for their future after LeBron leaves, because they'll be a shytty team once again.... and the deal they currently got can't get more better than this. If anything, I wouldn't be surprise that they KEEP the current deal and hope that IT's injury isn't season ending.

Key emphasis... ISN'T AS GOOD. They're not going to be a better deal.

I'm still waiting. Where is Cleveland getting a better deal for Kyrie. This is why some of y'all need to stop posting. The trade was never "bad" for Boston. It was too much to give up in my view but it still made sense for them. But more to the point, it made a TON of sense for Cleveland.

Ainge and every exec in the world knows LeBron is gone. After this season Cleveland is left with nothing. Kyrie ain't signing there longterm no matter what. So what's the plan? Keep Kyrie for another year and lose him for nothing?

They need to trade Kyrie and the team with the assets to make it work is Boston.

If Thomas is hurt and can't play it's a shytty deal for the Cavs who still want to compete. Explain how the Brooklyn pick helps the team get back to the finals if Thomas is diminished or misses the season. They have clear parameters for trading Kyrie - Get stating PG, get 3 and D wing, get a pick or prospect. Thomas being hurt means 1 of those isn't met and they would need more to assume the risk of trading for him.

People honestly think the cavs are stuck with kyrie? The Cavs could easily send him to the other teams they were talking to. Of course we would love BKN 1st but not at the cost of a guy who might not even play this season. If Ainge wants Kyrie.. He is going to have to give up another asset cause the Cavs are not going to just bend over.

But if IT is hurt it doesn't all of the sudden mean the Cavs have leverage. They never had leverage to begin with so for them to have gotten the deal they got in the first place was already generous.

They definitely have leverage now, which is why they haven't voided the trade just yet and will be discussing renegotiation with the Celtics.

So who is this mysterious team that is going to help the Cavs win this year?

They have a trade already lined up with the Bucks for Brogdon and Middleton.
