Celtics going to have to add more assets or this trade is going to blow up. I could care less what happens in the East though :russell:

So you are a psychiatrist also? Do you forget that these are professionals? What's to stop Boston from shopping him and the Brooklyn pick elsewhere?
There's nothing stopping them from doing that, but what other quality point guards are available right now that would help Boston?

The point of my original post that you quoted is that the Cavs can't just accept the trade as is but both teams are fukked if this trade is voided. Boston more short term, Cavs more long term because they won't find a better asset then the Nets pick for Kyrie.

Something is not right ya'll. This is the article from July Isaiah Thomas will not require surgery on injured hip, according to Boston Celtics' Danny Ainge

Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas will not require surgery for the right hip injury that forced him into a premature playoff exit, team president of basketball operations Danny Ainge told the Boston Globe.

According to the Globe's Adam Himmelsbach, Thomas is on track to participate in the start of training camp this fall. The Celtics were optimistic all along Thomas would avoid surgery, but team must have welcomed the final word from doctors after the decision dragged into the offseason's third month.

"Isaiah is making good progress," Ainge told Himmelsbach. "He's out on the court; he's shooting. He's full-speed ahead on the stationary bike and working in the swimming pool. He's progressing nicely."

Hmm now it makes sense. Kyrie trade request news came out July 21st. IT not needed surgery was July 26. Ainge had this planned all along. Let me say out loud that IT doesn't need surgery. Now i can get out of paying him a max deal and I get a new point guard on the market. Danny Ainge you sly dog you. You thought you fooled somebody. These ain't the Clippers doctors

People asking why doesnt Lebron commit?

Because why would he give up any leverage that he has before the season starts? He is the biggest star in the nba...can negotiate for enormous compensation(which is still vastly undervalued by the way)..watched his team owner get cheap with [aying a competent GM...listened to his wing partner claim that he is tired of being in his shadow even when he went out of his way to give effusive praise to that partner..

he signs long term Gilbert immediately becomes a cheapskate....I would bet Gilbert is happy with just one chip

No any rational person would wait till the end of the season where a far more in depth assessment of the situation can be had.......

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
they don't have to accept anything. Keep Kyrie if y'all want or make that Bucks deal and get swept by the Warriors. It's their choice. If IT's value decreases to other teams, Ainge still has Crowder and the Brooklyn pick back in the fold. :manny:

Please tell me all the PGs better than Kyrie on the market right now or potentially in the future, consider that they already said his age played a big role in trading for him. If Thomas is hurt and the trade is voided you'll have to start Rozier or Smart at PG, which makes you worse than the Wiz, Raptors with the Bucks potentially getting Kyrie they'd be better than you as well.

Crowder and the Brooklyn pick isn't getting you a PG of Kyrie's caliber because he's the only one on the market now, or for the foreseeable future.

Take him back, finish wherever you was gonna finish at and draft his replacement in 2018. fukk adding players to a done deal. That's not leverage for the Cavs in my opinion.

The Celtics are doing a conference call, apparently they planned on renegotiating, therefore the Cavs do have leverage especially with another trade partner out there, one that would be better than the Celtics if Kyrie is traded there.
