The outer limits
The song isn't that deep but the visuals definitely add a lot of meaning. I loved how each scene before the "this is America" chorus had imagery of black people singing and happy..then BAM, the chorus wakes you up and you realize you are never safe. Not playing the guitar, not in church, not even smoking a cigarette

People are going to make him the anti kanye , watch. And that’ll be sucka shyt

I like the video.
They’re two sides of the same coin imo. Average artists who placate to a base of people who want to be seen as deep or different. Their fans make their work more than what it is. Think Andy Warhol drawing cans of Campbell's soup over and over again and people telling you a million different things about what it means.

Probably been said in here already, is him on top of the car dancing at the end (with all the other late 80s/early 90s cars around) an ode to MJ’s “black or white” video...because it obviously does matter if you’re black or white?

Pretty cool, if so.

Nah, its a subversion of all the luxury whips you see in most rap videos....most people drive those shyts still.

I remember when "Because the Internet" came out and I basically, on this board, said he was absurdly talented and we would look back on Glover as one of our artists at the vanguard. 5 years later he's exactly that and even more....

This video is flames and the track is as well...

Honestly, I had to get past my 90's conceptualization of what rap/black music is supposed to be.

I know this is different era but I would love to hear a remix of this song with a few rappers on it... I really like the production on this song

video is pretty great.

the song....eh....Thugga's ad-libs sound nice
but both songs feel like a progression from Kauai which has some of his best songs.

This was supposed to be the logical conclusion of Kanye...but somewhere along the way...

Breh, don't even get me started. "New Slaves" was the last SHRED of hope I had for Kanye.

So sad to see a paragon of hip-hop devolve in such a way. Thank god Kendrick, Donald and others have been filling that void.

Also, this is the only time I actually have heard nikkas actually BLAST Donald Glover with the window down. Besides "Redbone".

Ludwig is nuts. He did the original score for "Black Panther" as well. For some reason cats from Sweden are resonating with hip-hop production...been killing it for a few years now.
