Daughter kills herself after Father cuts her hair and posts online

Told this story to my 17 year old daughter, first thing she said is,"She did it so her dad will have to live with that for the rest of his life." In an attempt to punish him.

That's what kids try and do now (really not new) try and punish the parent for punishing them. Give threats like, "I'll run away" and "I'll start doing drugs" attempting to manipulate the adult.

My generation tried that, only our parents would hit us with, "Fine, run away, but you're leaving naked" or "You won't hurt me cutting your arm....YOU will be the one dead and in hell. If you live I'm beating that ass again." So we got no wins with our parents, total domination.

Something tells me it wasn't a one time incident where she just went crazy out of nowhere.

Dad was probably emotionally abusive for a while and this was just the straw that broke the camels back.

if people actually took the time out to teach their kids from the jump they wouldn't have problems like this. Kids are inexperienced they don't understand the world. As an adult you have a better grasp on things then they do. So its your job to CALMLY guide them in the right direction. Not attack them because you feel like they bruised your ego.

And that's the thing. 99% of these parents aren't doing this to teach the kid a lesson. They don't think this punishment is gonna reform the childs behavior. They're doing it because they feel disrespected and they want to hurt the kid. But that isn't how parenting should work

if your child is super vein and everything he/she does is based on their looks. and you have tried all other punishments and they keep going against your rules. then yes you can cut that hair off. or take those jordans, or take that gear. whatever it is you know they think they have that makes them who they are when in reality it doesnt.

OR you can kick the kid out and send him/her to child services and let them put ya kid up for foster care. i mean you really dont have many choices if you actually have a kid that refuses to listen and do right. either get at them with something they value a lot. OR put em out. just know if you put them out and they end up in foster care. a little shaming aint nothing in compared to what they will face being some foster kid to most of these fake foster parents that use that title to abuse kids by using them as little worker bees or sex slaves, or just a check(half feeding/clothing them, not paying them any attention.)

There are rules in ya parents house. abide by those rules or deal with the consequences. stop expecting ZERO consequences for your actions. it dont work like that at your folks house because it wont work like that in the real world. a little hair cut is light weight. you get outside doing some ridiculous nonsense. and you may end up dead or in jail or laid out by someone. ya never know. and this isnt to say the little girl deserved it. we have no idea what transpired so let that be.

Some people are really not ready to have kids.

I thought I was ready 3 years ago. The amount of knowledge I've learned since then . I could have really missed some opportunities when the kids are in the developmental stage. Granted there is no right nook on parenting, but every bit of knowledge helps.

It sounds like this child was raised poorly and years on top of years of that will culminate in events like this.

A child committing suicide when there's no real abuse is a defective trait plain and simple.

Now perhaps her dad was a pedo, but we haven't heard that. A hair cut, though stupid for a girl, is not child abuse. Nothing a parent takes from a child should constitute abuse. What's next, a youth going off himself because his Xbox was taken...foh!

It's a case of children not wanting to abide by rules and trying to one up their parents. Life is too precious to kill yourself over embarrassment or hair.

What if she came down with cancer and lost her hair? You have to be stronger than that as a person! If you're not you're a defective being and not suitable for life.

I was talking to this woman who's allergic to damn near everything. I told her, if it wasn't for this artificial society she would have been dead. Strong....but the truth! These people are passing down these defective genes. That's fine I guess, I'm not God, but call it what it is.
