ESPN needs to stop talking New York Sports if they think NYC has always been a Yankee town

lmao cause your bum ass team is up in the air to even get the 2nd wc, were ten games up and a guarenteed division spot. you expect people to still be hype at the moment? when things are going well theres nothing to talk about, your bum ass team is barely in contention thats why all your wack fans have a lot at the moment to talk about, thats all it is. common sense

I had no idea the Mets were that big in New York
They aren’t. What OP tried to explain is textbook BANDWAGON shyt. Not running nothing.

From what everyone says, Mets get good every 20 years, then dudes come out the closet with Mets gear and buy tickets. This leads you to seeing everyone rooting for the Mets and all the gear and say “Oh they running things”

No they are not. During those times, a bunch of fake ass fans hop on their dikk for a season or two. Most are actually Yankees fans who switch back and forth. A lot are not even baseball fans but hate the yankees so they proud the Mets are doing good. Some aren’t even bball fans but jocking. And a slim few are real, die hard, 0-162 and they’d still love them, Mets fans.

Reminds me of the clippers. Lob city right when the lakers were horrible. Suddenly everyone was a clippers fan (like now). They’ll support for now. Then disappear into thin air when they drop down again.

That’s called babysitting the city. You ain’t running shyt cause dad ain’t home for the night.

This is bullshyt. Met's fans are one of the most diehard fans in all of American sports. We appreciate runs like these and don't take them for granted cuz we not in it all the time like the Yankees. There's a small percentage of band wagoners that hop on either team when there hot but its a small percentage.

Then where do these fans disappear to during the Yankees runs? When the Mets win, eveeeeeerybody all the sudden loud and proud. Gear is flooding the streets. Everybody talking.

The other 70 decades, they barely speak

They're not bruh...

They haven't been a relevant franchise in this city in over 30 years...

Mutt fans spend 8 years a decade hiding in a closet and the moment their team makes any noise whatsoever a few dozen decide to put their fitteds back on and scream "feels like its 86 again"...
Right now its the same half a dozen dudes getting hyped and talking shyt on NY sports radio for a one game playoff they won't get...:mjlol:

At this point laughing at them is like laughing at a retarded kid...You feel bad for them but can't help but laugh at them...

Im older than all the heads in here. The Mets had this city on lock from 85 until 97. This isnt a myth. That 86’ Mets team to this day STILL reps everything that was old New York City...from the fights with each other and other teams to the coke problems of Doc & Straw...common everyday New yorkers gravitated to that team more than any Yankee team Ive ever seen (i wasnt old enough to say this about the 77’ & 78’ Yanks).

Its true. I used to have debates with niqqas telling me Strawberry was better than Winfield...and because of the sheer Mets fans numbers I lost. :russ:

They and the 86 Giants....two most beloved NYC teams of my lifetime.
