Jay isn't a showman in the sense of having an animated stage show and huge effects... he has solid stage presence and hits that resonate more for a particular audience (mainly an audience that's geared toward rap and/or amenable to rap) ... SB performances aren't his lane, man. He'd have to bring out Beyonce, RiRi, etc.

the SB audience (in attendance) is not really amenable to rap.

I personally dont think beyonce would have gotten to the level she has without that co-sign/stimulus from jay... but when it comes to overall popularity she is head and shoulders above him. Somebody like her, Rihanna... ppl are saying Pitbul, Bruno Mars (the fukking usual big production performers) are more suitable for a SB half time show.
I don't even watch the fukking half time show. im not even a jayz fan, but if he did do it... i would definitely watch it.
Lastly, some if y'all are talking about how good jayz performs at his shows and how energetic the crowd is.
These are ppl who paid a ticket to see a jayz show... im sure they're going to be excited.

I am proud of hip hop... something i grew up with.
hip hop is at 25 percent, rock is at 23 percent.
but They combined rap and r&b together to get that 25percent.
They didnt combine rock, country, alternative or whatever the fukk to get to 23 percent.
I could definitely see hip hop being the most popular now. everytime i see a younger white kid. theyre not playing rock. they're usually playing the most ratchet rap shyt u can image. i

• sprite remix tour 2002
• roc the mic 2003
• jay/MJB 2008
• WTT 2011
• jay/justin timberlake 2013
• jay/beyonce 2014

I've seen him at every phase of his career outside of RD/Vol 1 days...don't try to write off people's assessments as lack of exposure simply because they don't align with yours

It's called exposure and being that I've been to many of those artist's concerts as well as 6-7 jay z concerts spanning from 1999-2014, I know exactly what I'm talking about, so no, I'm not confused. Jay z is not a performer, he's a rapper with a good stage presence, but it doesn't go past that.

And performance is not about good music it's about the fukking performance, music is about good music...wtf.

i've been to many of the artists you saying that put on better shows than jay, and some i agree, some i dont....but it doesnt matter cause it's all opinion....

the part i'll comment on is you saying music isnt part of the performance....that isnt true...music is very much part of the performance cause that's the main reason you go to a concert...yea, the other shyt is nice, but if you dont enjoy the music, you not gonna go just for the other shyt...where as, if you enjoy the music, you'd be more willing to go even if the person doesnt do the other shyt....
