No they're not. If a white kid without a degree is building more wealth than black kids with degrees, you expect me to believe that white kids with "terrible" majors are having trouble finding well paying jobs? This is the crux of the issue....
The crux of the issue is lack of planning. What is a degree in Sociology? What is a degree in a Biology? These degrees are usually used as a launching pad to a higher degree? Here's a suggestion: if you have a biology degree, go to a local university and get another degree in nursing. The program should not be longer than 18 months. In fact, if you have already have a degree, they usually can slide you into a BSN program.

The problem is folks are educated, yet clueless.

I graduated high school with an abysmal gpa, and I was still able to parley it into a free nursing degree. My accounting degree was free too. And guess what. My next degree will also be free.

This is bull shyt. From the pic to the stats and everything. The pic Like college grads are living in the fukking ghetto like that. I'm so sick of all these liberal media outlets comparing us to white people
I agree, but there is some truth to this. I work in corporate. Less than 2% of the employees see payroll. Trust me. You will be like what the fukk if you were to see Cacs salaries vs blacks. So of them don't even have the same credentials. A black with an MBA can make 20k or more less than Cacs with a Bachelors.

Most Black American males major in communications, political science, exercise science, AfAm studies, etc.

Most Black American females major in sociology, psychology, AfAm studies, early childhood education, women's studies, etc.

None of those majors lead to major earnings at the mid-career mark.

In my opinion, you should only minor in those things unless you plan to go to professional school (medical, law, etc.) right after college.

One of my brehs has certs and has a B.S. in computer science and can't find a job. Face it, this is what the lack of unions do to the economy.

I agree. Like most things when it comes to wealth and race it's a multitude of factors, but I definitely agree with this one. I went to UofH, at the time, 2nd most diverse university in the country. We have a significant black population here and you can see it on campus, dorms etc. I majored in Economics and there was rarely anyone who looked like me in my upper level coursework. Most of the time if there was another black person they were African. Nothing wrong with that, but the shear lack of AA's in these classes bothered me.

That being said, despite, internship experience, a high GPA, student organization it still took me a while to get a job, and the lady that hired me was definitely on the progressive side of thinking when it came to social matters. I actually had to do an internship AFTER I graduated so that I could get a job with the company. Call it what you want, but I know lily whites from my same graduating class who were up and working not two weeks after they graduated. The racial component here is undeniable and I hate when CACs try to slide it under the rug. You can't really notice this until you live in an area like Houston, a city with a very prominent black population, but still when I walk into the office, when I see the people directly in the oil field, I see 95% white faces. It's a scam rigged in their favor which is why I do everything in my power to put any black person on if possible. Eventually entrepreneurship is the goal so I can do this on a wider scale.
I can roll with everything but with bold,I think that's just personal experience shaping your views. I'm not saying its nothing wrong with that either just saying black people that don't have your experience aren't going to always understand or believe you. I know I feel that way on here at times when people talk about how they can't make it and the like but I see people doing things from a monetary perspective all the time that are black. Its hard to take them serious esp when you add a lot of dudes are on here a lot just typing away instead of using that time productively. End of the day when people don't get to where they are you can see in little things like being on here instead of working on their goals why they will never get far with their current mind state but for them to then put it mainly on other factors they can't control I'm like FOH.

The beginning paragraph I agree with.

I can respect that. I shared my own experience, but I still believe there is underlying racial component that I'm able to see on a broader scale because of my experience. Like I said living in one of the most diverse cities in America and still seeing what the demographics of a corporate office looks like here is pretty eye opening.

We have to create our own jobs by building businesses. This should be obvious by now.
This is true and cats always say it but none do it. People will say yeah we need businesses but how many do so? That's just as much of a problem to me cats just running off at the mouth instead of doing somethingsomething

Very true, many of us get a paycheck and get content, and would rather waste our free time than trying to climb higher.

I think there is always a racial component for almost everybody. Most don't really believe meritocracy. Just look how people say if they was up they would help other blacks on here. If they would do that why don't you think others would do the same? That's life we just have to over time get more people in positions and also have more qualified blacks too. Its not all race or even mostly IMO and don't want people to use the same excuses our grandparents were using from 50-60yrs ago when they didn't have half as many opportunities as we do.

People with education and skills are still undervalued. We need worker unions to raise the standard of living.

While you may be right. We have to land those type of jobs before we can complain about the wages. You can't be complaining about the salary wage of engineers and you're working fast food.

Exactly you see it on threads on here. Dudes talking about what Lebron or Mayweather can do with their money instead of working on a way to get money like them or better and do what you want with it. Its annoying esp coming from guys. That's chick shyt to me. I don't have them dudes money but I know if I want to do big things like some on here say its up to me to work on that instead of hoping others share my vision and do it for me. If they don't do what I want them to do with their money shame them (well they aren't on here) with c00n talk and the like. Stuff looks like girl behavior when you don't do what they want you to do and they try to take cheap shots at you.

Yep. We need a forum to discuss these things and build. This Locker Room slapping a towel on the next man business is for the birds. Maybe I'll see what the Root is offering for now.
