Hmmm... maybe I saw incorrectly. But it looked like Melo was calling for the screen, but Felton was already running to the other side of the court. Which is why I assumed Melo hesitated initially. It looked like he was about to drive, then saw the screen wasn't there... stepped back, pump faked and just took the shot since he had a relatively clean look. But that's just what it looked like to me...
With that said... here are the improvements I think are needed.
1. The Knicks need to play defense ALL OF THE TIME. If these clowns played D like they did in the last 10 minutes of the last two games all of the time, They would easily be top 10 this year. But it's like they can't play like that unless they have too.
2. Melo needs to play more in the post. These first two games he hasn't been working down there offensively. He's actually been better down there on rebounds than he has offensively.
3. Chandler needs to put some Lubriderm on his hands cause that dude can't seem to cleanly catch a ball that isn't a lob or a put back dunk
4. THJR needs to be more confident taking those open shots. Everyone in the building knows he can shoot lights out, nobody will be mad if he has a decent look and takes it.
5. K-Mart and Stoudemire need to be given more time to get into a rhythm whenever they do get playing time. They play for like 4 minutes and sitdown, and then either don't come in for another two quarters or don't come back in at all. It may be ok for K-Mart, but that's not gonna work for STAT. He either looked rusty out there, or he looked good. No halfway. we need him to get into an offensive rhythm so he can turn into instant offense. Hopefully as the season goes on, he can get more consistent minutes.
6. Turnovers!!!! If these dudes didn't get so many turnovers early, the Knicks probably win this game. But every time they got close, the started turning the ball over and the lead kept getting back up to 8-10 points. How does Bargs get 3 offensive fouls in like 5 minutes? Rediculous.
