Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
So the only people who can have any kind of opinion on living abroad are people who have lived abroad? How convenient :beli:

When a person starts talking about the "ins and outs" of living in another country, they sure had better lived in another country when saying such things :yeshrug:

It's not just extreme shyt like cancer. You get in a car accident or something, emergency response in other countries sucks compared to the US.

HOW DO YOU KNOW?

You're acting like every country outside the US is 3rd world, this is why I don't really value your opinion on this. You haven't lived outside the US, so if you don't have the numbers on these things don't speak on them, I know the response time in Rio, how about you tell me what it is since you have vast knowledge on other countries and how they all apparently "suck" compared to the US.

Im still a 10 hr drive or $200 flight away. I don't have to worry about travel visas or any of that shyt if I want to go back. Plus NC is different from NYC, but it's still "overrated American culture" that brehs HAVE to leave, in your opinion, so by your logic it's not "incredibly different" from NYC in any meaningful way.
Oh, just a 10 hour drive away.....yeah you'll be doing that often :stopitslime: You argue like a woman, point out where I said anyone HAS to leave, stop putting words in peoples posts. I'm here to point out the option that many people didn't even know existed, most people don't know the cost of living outside the US is drastically lower and in countries where there still is a high standard of living.

It may be overrated TO YOU, but that doesn't mean it's overrated for everybody. That u have to engage in broad sweeping generalizations, cherry picked real estate examples (with no discussion of differences in financing here vs there) and outright hyperbole to sell this stuff weakens the case to move abroad to me.

:camby:

Cherry picked, yet I posted the actual real estate sites and if anyone wants to check them they can. Those were mid range places, I could have easily posted the low end extremely cheap places outside of the cities in question. I could have lied and said people can make $30k a year doing whatever they want for 5 hours a day, you see what you want and form your own arguments based on something nobody has even said or implied.

I have family abroad, I have friends abroad, my family has literally helped dozens of people gain legal entry into this country. So Im not some no-passport having redneck... Im a first gen immigrant who has travelled a lot. I am sure if I were on the same "fukk America everyone has to leave" shyt you are you wouldn't question my credibility at all. U, Tommy and blackzeus are 3 people, and u have a clear agenda/bias... the range of people I know living abroad are a much bigger sample set and more honest mix. Why should I take your one opinion over the DOZENS I have from people I know well in real life?

So everyone that doesn't agree with you has a clear bias, right. Help me understand how 3 people who have lived outside the US vs a person who hasn't are biased, yet you somehow aren't biased even though you haven't had the counter experience to living in America? Also, disregard the other people in this thread that have said they loved living abroad, or the people saying they plan to retire abroad. Why should anyone take YOUR opinion on living abroad when you've never done it, I don't care how much you've traveled or how many people you know that have done it, until you've lived on a day to day basis outside the US your opinion is straight :ld: status.

This isn't even to say brehs shouldn't look into living abroad... they should... but they should look at it without bias and REALLY look into all the ins and outs; not just look for anything to convince themselves of a predetermined conclusion like you are trying to do. Acting like there are absolutely no downsides, even minor, to living abroad, is just flat out dishonest.

:wtf:

Who said there are no downsides, this thread is specifically about the cost of living in other countries, if you want to take it as having no downsides so be it. You play the contrarian in so many threads striving for "balance" that you completely miss the mark half the time, so I guess I'm the new @Emperor_ReinScarf for you :mjpls:

That's what I'm doing tho it's HIGHLY discouraged by my employer to purchase real estate or have any financial holdings overseas

i have a house in jamaica

but I wouldn't even buy property in other countries, i'd just rent so i can easily move and not be locked down.

I really want to move, I've been thinking about it for awhile. But I got no clue where I wanna hit up... I swear it seems like the rest of the world hates Americans plus being black I'd have to deal with thugs and racist.:camby:

Where ever I go it needs to be hot or warm pretty much year round, any suggestions?

So. Cal
ya'll gotta be aware though of where u wanna move to. A lot of my friends go to places for the first time and want to move there immediately but fail to actually stay there for a few months to see if it fits their lifestyle. I mean change is good but sometimes change isnt meant for most. Im comfortable where im at and i been to places from time to time and while the cost of living is better,i got bored quickly after being there for a few weeks. :manny:

Yea my pops got laid off from Eli Lilly and got like a $60k severance and moved to the DR since he traced some of our roots down there. He lived off that, a condo he rented out and had a part time gig doing consultant work for like 5 years before he even thought about getting a full time job. Amazing how cheap it is down there when you're not trying to live in heavy touristy areas.

I saw more of that in Japan (mainland and Okinawa) than I did in SK. Youll see a bit in certain spots in Seoul but it's not as bad as Japan. That was just another level of hate towards anyone not Japanese.
