I said WILLING to risk your life. Stop playing dumb, you know exactly what I mean.
People can say they're "willing" to do anything. It's about what you do. Ask how many people on this board have actually donated bottles to Flint. You'll likely hear crickets.

Pro Black is more than just fukking up your livelihood for the cause. Much more.

Who's to say that's she's not just as "willing" as everyone else who hasn't done it?

There's really no win in most celebrities being pro-black. I saw that with Kendrick. You can preach about police brutality and oppression and colorism and spread the message to those who desperately need it, but then "your girl is too light, you're fake :camby:" or "he's a fake hotep nikka doing it for the fame, all marketing". There's really no point.

What she did was remarkable but of course there are going to be people who want to talk down on it, because that's what we do in our community.
Can we stop with nitpicking this woman to death? Ok she has blonde weave, and? Does that make her less pro black?
How many nattys we got out here wenching it up?
We can't complain that artists aren't using their platform for positivity, then when they do still have something to say. Damn she gotta face back lash from outside and inside her community.

That's not knit picking at all. She's sending a positive message, but it ain't pro-black.

Well gee, we're on a internet forum so we can't really imply that people may or may not have donated water bottles and filters to Flint. If fukking up your "livelihood" isn't pro-black, what does being pro-black entail? I'd be interested to know. :jbhmm:

I say only two things. Just two. Being aware and making other people aware. That's it. No one has the money to fix the money problems in our community, because what we're owed by this country probably can't even be done. Black people are owed trillions of dollars and with each passing generation that number goes up.

The best you can do, is instill pride into blacks. Influence is a silent currency, and it's infinite :jbhmm:

The fact that the #1, pound for pound most well known artist in the country who has millions of young black women who absolutely worship her, has a song on the radio right now that is at the very least unapologetically, undoubtedly black, even if you disagree that it's "pro black", its BLACK, is a very Big deal.

Because truth is there is nothing else like that being made by anyone, nor is there anyone even close to putting out some shyt like that. She's 1 of the two black female pop stars, and she's the biggest.

Not even close. Millions of young black women are listening to that right now, and it'll do more good than harm in any situation you can imagine.

Influence is important. Extremely important.

it is knit picking. "she's being positive, but no pro black". i mean damn does she have to break a white babies neck in her video for her to be considered pro black? did she not marry and reproduce with a black man. if she hated being black as people imply, the last thing she would've done is had a black kid.

it bothers me that black people are bashing her as much as white folks. like, is a blonde weave going to spare any black person from racism white supremacy? how many naturals are out here with white men and biracial kids? white women can do whatever the hell they want to their hair, and nobody accuses them of rejecting their whiteness. they can have dreads, dye it any color they want, any style they want and its ok. yet let a black woman do anything outside of the box that white americans put her in and its a problem.

Seriously what on earth can possibly be offensive about this song? Like at all? :jbhmm: Besides the imagery of the music video, I don't see how it's "pro-black".

It's like the fat dude said; they get the feeling "it's not for them".
"Hot Sauce In Her Bag Swag" and whatnot.

The MVP line in this skit, doe:
"How they can be black?? They're women!!" WOOOO
