That's not knit picking at all. She's sending a positive message, but it ain't pro-black.
Well gee, we're on a internet forum so we can't really imply that people may or may not have donated water bottles and filters to Flint. If fukking up your "livelihood" isn't pro-black, what does being pro-black entail? I'd be interested to know.
I say only two things. Just two. Being aware and making other people aware. That's it. No one has the money to fix the money problems in our community, because what we're owed by this country probably can't even be done. Black people are owed trillions of dollars and with each passing generation that number goes up.
The best you can do, is instill pride into blacks. Influence is a silent currency, and it's infinite
The fact that the #1, pound for pound most well known artist in the country who has millions of young black women who absolutely worship her, has a song on the radio right now that is at the very least unapologetically, undoubtedly black, even if you disagree that it's "pro black", its BLACK, is a very Big deal.
Because truth is there is nothing else like that being made by anyone, nor is there anyone even close to putting out some shyt like that. She's 1 of the two black female pop stars, and she's the biggest.
Not even close. Millions of young black women are listening to that right now, and it'll do more good than harm in any situation you can imagine.
Influence is important. Extremely important.
