Maybe some of us in here hold ourselves to a higher standard. As a man, it's my responsibility to be able to take care of myself. Failing to the point of homelessness is not an option, nor a position I disclose (should I find myself in it) to a potential partner unless I'm looking for a handout.

Once again, love is selfless although you must love and know yourself before you can love others, people mix that up with being selfish in a relationship.

As black men, we have the biggest obstacles to fight. The system works against us and additionally puts plants like her out there (especially in music) to emasculate and destroy our characters while white and Hispanic families commit selfless acts to support one another and thrive.

Did anyone see the recent info the OP dropped? This man is an aspiring rapper, and is trying to become a music producer.... She is helping with starting his music producing business right now. OP, what are their ages? Why was he in the situation he was in? I need more context before I say anything about their situation. All I'll offer now is that I'm glad that her investment in him is resulting in marriage. Congrats to them. If he succeeds, she's definitely a large part of his success.

Every situation is different. I can't judge based off of a few tweets.

For all I know the dude had large earning potential and she knew it was a good investment.

Take Charlie Wilson wife as an example. She rescued a man who was an ex entertainer homeless drug addict living on the street. Cleaned him up gave him a place to stay. He goes on to be even more rich and famous than he was before. On her part that was one hell of an investment. shyt was like buying 100 bitcoins at 200 dollars a piece and selling them at 19k a piece years later.

Second why are folks even suprised by this shyt. Like we don't know men and women in real life who buy their mates (yes I said buy). Like their aint a bunch of old dudes who bought some young girl who eventually became his wife.
