Why does Jay-Z have 12 platinum albums, and 50/nelly/DMX can only sell albums to close friends?

Nelly works wit nicki, and flops, nothing

50 works wit em and flops, nothing

Nas works wit miguel, nothing

Jayz works wit justin, essays on how he's a dikkriding fakkit
50 also worked with Adam Levin when Maroon 5 had the number one song in the country.

Or what about when 50 did Ayo Technology with Justin Timberlake during Justin's run with "Future Sex Love Sounds."

Several part answer;

1) Promo is part of it. Dude knows how to get people hyped, plus he has a real core fanbase.

2) Dude's albums always have a different sound to them, and are always well done with a mix of different sounds. Jay albums usually have a song for every type of life situation, so even if they're not his best work you can rock with at least a couple of the songs heavy. Best ear for beats of any rapper ever. Period.

3) Dude picks the right artists; to feature on his OWN shyt and to feature on. He doesn't often align himself with bums.

4) Dude is just more talented than the people you listed. He's just better. He makes catchier songs, he's funnier, he has more quotables, better albums, sorry. Deal with it.

Bam, got it in one :sas1:

The only reason these guys are mad about Jay collabing, is because the artists they like or see as morally right (:mjlol:) fail at it and everyone forgets. Just look; Nas is loading up his new album with Magna Carta producers, features (timbo, swizz, justin timberlake, frank ocean)

:sas2: how's that gonna work out for him?

It's hard for a lot of heads to admit that people just fukk with Jay-Z :yeshrug:

umm because hes better than said people

plus he can make consistently good songs/albums

and knows how to live in the current state of the world

also as some have said he doesnt over saturate the market

doing that is a death sentence and means it will be a short run

ja rule is a PRIME example of that no one wants to hear a damn ja rule record for shyt now a days not even with the singing crap just it was waaaaaaaaaaay to much damn ja rule out its like he was the only artist workin at a point lol

plus his albums didnt hold up or age well

dmx

again regardless of his drug issues which effected him he is in a position where he came in so hot in the rap game and was all over everything he burned out his own flame by dropping so much material so close together not just his solo stuff but ruff ryder things also

plus lets be real his albums got horrible and people will call his debut and other albums "classic" but they really havent aged well

when he did that BET medley the other year felt like it was a memorial performance lol

nelly was in a word trendy

his debut was iight but thats it IIGHT he happen to have had some big singles though but again as his career went on albums werent up to par and singles werent as big

lil wayne is next on the list also when carter 2 was "on the way" this dude had out about 500 mixtapes waaaaaay to much material and over time albums werent as good(carter 4 sucked) people start to care less but hes backed off for a bit so lets see next go round

50 cent

honestly again too much material plus how many people can you body per song? lol the crazy thing is he stood away for a long time and its appearing to have been too long of a time as no one cares hes back

now as for the jay dikk rides etc.. stuff

i cant understand how everyone in hip hop(and out) wants to work with HIM makes him a dikkrider

and if jay or any artist really chooses to work with an artist who is currently "hot" it is what it is

its just funny how as others have mentioned another artist can do that and they get a pass lol

plus ya actin like anyone who gets a hot single jay works with

like jay got a song with iggy or migos etc... lol

breh, just pointing out the dikk riding nature of your GOAT:wow:
truth:wow:
Your GOAT is dikkriding ours :wow:

Nas filling up his album with all of the same artists that are on Magna Carta, including Jay-Z himself :wow:

Invited Jay to perform his own material at his Illmatic concert, live :wow:

Trying to be a label exec once again and an entrepreneur just like Jay :wow:

Selling liquor to the masses when he said he never would just like Jay :wow:

Nas really does wanna be like Jay-Z :wow:

Plenty of veteran rappers do songs and collaborations with newer artists...but for some reason on The Coli, Jay is the only that gets flack.

:umad: that his shyt is hot and is still selling:laff:

Riight?

If Jay made an awful "summer" track with Miguel and Swizz Beatz The Booth would've been on fire for weeks :pachaha:
