Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
How did that series end again? :aicmon:

Golden State has never played a big man as dominant as Shaq. They'd be as lost out there as the Bulls would've been playing Hakeem. Curry, KD & Klay are cool but, who's guarding Kobe & Shaq? And while Shaq is manhandling 2-3 different Warriors players, who is stopping Kobe from dropping 30 a game? You also ASSUME that Golden State would still be maintaining their high octane offense when they gotta guard a behomoth for 48 minutes on the other end.

Andre Iguodala, the same guy who held Kobe to 24ppg on 43% shooting during their career matchups. That's who would be defending Kobe.

For the last time, how do the Lakers guard the Warriors, specifically the high screen with Shaq having to come out on Curry or Durant. Who is going to score outside of Shaq and Kobe? :wtf:

We talking about 2001 right? He averaged 24ppg on 41% shooting vs the Sixers, can you now say that Aaron McKie, Eric Snow and a rookie Raja Bell are better defenders than the Warriors perimeter players. We need that for the complete overrating cipher where you start to pump up the opponents to make it seem that much better.

For the entire playoffs he averaged 29/7/6 on 49% shooting.

He chilled against the Sixers cause they were no match.

Against the Warriors he would be doing twice the damage Kyrie is doing. 2001 Kobe is basically a taller, more athletic version of Kyrie Irving.

If lil Kyrie is hitting Klay up for 40 and if old Kobe was regularly dropping 40 on Klay, imagine what a younger more athletic Kobe would do?

Kobe would feast. He would average 35ppg while Shaq averaged 45ppg.

Lakers would sweep 4-0.

So twice as much damage, even though the Warriors do have someone that has guarded him well in his career, right.

It's not like Kobe was some mythical finals performer who always gave legendary showings either. He averaged 15 on 36% shooting in 2000 when matched up with Reggie miller. If he were a pro wrestler in 2004, his entrance theme would've been sabotage by the beastie boys. He shot 40% both times he played Boston, and a below average 43% even in his 2009 series against Orlando. He had just one single finals where he even shot at an average rate.

Kobe played in an era when defense was being played.

You just had a finals game in which 49 points were scored in a quarter BY ONE TEAM.

This is why it's retarded to compare stats in different eras. Right now we're seeing Kyrie Irving (a player similar to Kobe in style but obviously inferior) dominate the Warriors one on one.

Kobe is a taller, more athletic, more skilled version of Kyrie.

He would absolutely torch this no defense fast paced era.

Iggy never played Kobe in the Finals nor did he play Kobe while Shaq was on the Lakers having come in the league in 04......the Finals is a different ball game than the regular season and with Shaq drawing double and triple teams, Iggy won't have any help defense when he gets cooked.....also Kobe dropped 48 points on that nikka once IIRC :mjlol:

So if Iggy in the game, I'm assuming this is the roster they're going with?

C - Zaza
PF - Durant
SF - Iguodala
SG - Klay
PG - Steph

Good luck with Durant and Zaza trying to guard Shaq Diesel :mjlol: Get your best player in foul trouble :mjlol:

This is how nostalgia works right here, look at what he said..... @Jplaya2023 frames this in a way that makes you think Fisher was shooting like Curry or Durant.

Reality, Derek Fisher made 2.2 threes a game for the playoffs, 2. This "unconscious" scorer averaged 13ppg for the playoffs as the 3rd option...
He was unconscious though he shot 51% from 3 that playoffs

We can say Kobe and Shaq combine for 55-62ppg, where is the other 50-60ppg coming from?

]In 2001 Kobe didn't get to the line "every time he wants" against Eric Snow, Aaron McKie and rookie Raja Bell, please tell me you're saying those guys are better than the Warriors perimeter players.

Kyrie Irving is torching these clowns for the second straight finals.

Unless you're arguing Kyrie is better than Kobe, I don't know how you can argue these Warriors are gonna stop him.

If Kyrie who is basically an inferior version of Kobe at 6'2" and not as athletic Can have his way with this team, I'm sure 2001 Kobe would do the same.

You keep citing the finals stats, but you neglect to mention that for the entire playoffs Kobe averaged 29/7/6 on 49% shooting.

Maybe he was just off those 5 games against Philly?

All I know is if Kyrie can carve up Klay Thompson the way he's doing right now, imagine what 2001 Kobe would do?

Kobe is a taller, more athletic, more skilled version of Kyrie. He would dismantle the Warriors defense.

Thank you for coming in with your crazy ass opinions, it makes it much better for others to see how out of touch they are when you're on their side of things.

Curry is the 4th best Warrior, right?

Behind Timmy, Mitch, & Mullin? Maybe...

Are you not watching the finals? The dude is garbage. He's being hidden on defense.

Until he starts to guard his position he will never be better than 4th best on his team.

He dropped 48 on him his 2nd year in the league :aicmon:

You want to see some of the ugly ass statlines Kobe had against Iguodala or would that ruin your childhood to see him posting 6-17, 7-21 type games?

In any lineup, you refuse to answer the question how does Shaq guard the high screen you been ducking that shyt for a reason :russ:

Who? Andre Igoudala? The guy who Kobe told in 2006 that he would score 50 in the locker room before the game. And then he went out and scored 48 on him in a little over 3 quarters.

That Iggy? Kobe would destroy him like he destroyed him that night.

I will continue to reiterate this since you keep running away from it. Is your argument that Kyrie Irving is better than Kobe Bryant? Because 6'2" Kyrie is right now dropping 40 a night at will against these Warriors. And Kobe is 10x better than Kyrie.

If lil Kyrie is lighting these boys up, imagine what 22 year old Kobe would do?

Kobe would be making a mockery of the Warriors defense.

Because they have more guys capable of guarding the 2 than they do the 1 :wtf:

They do not put Iguodala on Kyrie because he has to be on LeBron, Klay is an SG being asked to guard a PG. They could put Klay, Iguodala or even KD on Kobe because they do not have to respect the offense of Rick Fox or Derek Fisher, neither of those dudes are beating anyone.

So are they gonna start Igoudala or is Thompson gonna guard Kobe?

Cause an old Kobe lit up Klay quite a few times. And with the way Kyrie is lighting up Klay for the second straight finals, Kobe would do twice the damage.

And finally even if I concede to this argument that they could control Kobe, what they gon do about Shaq? You acting like the 2001 Lakers don't have the ultimate trump card. 2001 Shaq would average 50ppg on this team.
