Still not understanding Bron back to CLE. Outside of sentimental reasons, he's not joining a team ready to compete for a title next year or maybe even in 2 years as presently constructed. I know my Ohio brehs are hoping this into existence but Bron is in win now mode, going back to CLE would be clearly a step back
and what is miami doing after two years? wade will be down to playing 25 games a season and bosh is checking out more and more offensively every year. wade and bosh both want 10+ mil a year. What kind of space does that leave? as it is, miami can't even function without lbj on the court. look at the on/off stats in the playoffs - he said it in the presser too. everyone in the league is getting better except miami. they've stagnated and they're about to regress hard unless they land more than a couple free agents worth talking about (with no cap space)

meanwhile cleveland locked up kyrie and got everyone else on rookie contracts.

i'm just saying... the safest long term move for his basketball career between miami/cleveland is cleveland. miami is going to be banking on free agency every year from here on. and unlike shaq/kobe lakers, they got money tied up in a future bum in Wade and a guy that's never been able to even fully play off of lbj in bosh

i don't think he'll leave miami. i'm just sayin tho... :yeshrug:

You put Bron on that current squad and they are injury free (big if) I don't see how they aren't a top 3 east squad.

Breh CLE has a new coach, new GM an organization in flux, years of wasted draft picks...let's be honest breh Bron on ANY team in the East is a top 3 squad, his goal is to win titles and CLE isn't in position to do that for a couple seasons. Just because you have talent doesn't mean that you'll automatically be a Finals team breh. He'd be leaving a better organization to go back to CLE breh, at this point in his career it doesn't make sense

That focusing on the past stuff really don't mean anything. Their crappy GM that hired Mike Brown and drafted Bennett got fired mid season. The new GM hasn't made a misstep yet.

The thing worth repeating though is that, unlike other championship teams, Miami has developed absolutely zero talent. They haven't even displayed the capacity with Spo.

You bring up good points except for the fact that you're still taking a step back in CLE because even with the talent & potential on the roster & the cap flexibility this organization has been a dumpster fire since Bron left, has mismanaged draft picks, has fired coaches/GMs left & right and most importantly hasn't made the playoffs since he left. I guess I just don't see Bron going to a team with as many question marks as CLE just based off potential.

He's not joining a championship roster tho. They have talent & cap space...If Bron is gonna go to CLE it's a money grab (which I have NO problem with), but it's not about the pursuit of winning multiple championships. The same issues that plagued him in CLE (not enough help) would follow him in CLE. They've got talent, but they're not ready to win. Bron is in his prime & if he can get another 2-3 years out of the Big 3 era in Miami THAT would be the better play. I don't think Bron wants to wait 3 years for this CLE team to figure it out

I mean... what does Miami have outside of rolling the dice on FA ring chasers and hoping guys take MASSIVE paycuts. Wade shouldn't even be getting a call back but that loyalty that Miami's FO is going to show him is absolutely crippling any significant moves that Miami could make to keep winning games in the future. They should be throwing his salary at Lance instead - but they won't.

Its not even a step back really. It only is in the short term. LBJ goes to Cleveland and they probably don't win it all next year. Clearly. LBJ stays in Miami and they might - IF they actually improve their roster significantly while pacifying all of the Big 3 and filling up their entire roster. And in two years, they'll be looking for help all over again in Miami. That's not stability. That's directionless hope against a league that's getting better while Miami stagnates in most areas and takes steps backwards in others.

Again, the past is the past.

Idk breh the new coach they hired is supposed to be a offensive genius. Both Kyrie and Waiters have showed flashes of brilliance, they got bigs...the only question mark is Bennett.

Bron is supposed to be the best player in the game, if he is truly a leader and is capable of being a winner that current Cleveland team while young has the pieces to be led if he has it in him.

This squad could get out and run for days with Bron. Kyrie can run a squad too so it wouldn't be Bron all the time( or atleast it shouldn't be), I don't see how they couldn't be a problem next season in the East.

And its not like Cleveland had the worst record in the league last year. They barely missed the playoffs with a ton of fukkery goin on.

I just don't see Bron taking a step back to go to a franchise with no direction vs. a franchise he's been to 4 straight Finals with. Everybody opted out to renegotiate and possibly re up at less than their value, I don't see why it's unreasonable to see it happen again. And you say everybody is gettin better, but if the same exact MIA team comes back next yr they're still far & away the best team in the East and still a top 2 or 3 team in the league. I would rather take the next 2 years knowing I will absolutely contend than play the guessing game in CLE for a few years b/c they have "talent & cap space"

You're forgetting the most important factor: It's home. If Milwaukee had the same roster and picks he wouldn't even consider them.

Yeah that too, I mean this shouldn't be a surprise that the rumors are going.

He left a squad that wouldn't trade for a fading Amare to a squad with tons of young talent at the wings he could grow with in a wing driven league.

But he's trying to win a title, he can win the East with almost any team in the East that he wants...I don't doubt he could lead CLE to winning the East, but the East is terrible. CLE just doesn't come off as an organization ready to go into compete for titles mode. They'd be fortunate to make the playoffs without Bron on this roster, does Bron really want to go to a lottery team? It just doesn't make sense
