Can't blame Frye or if you were a player in his position, he got that serious heart ailment, and playing on a contender is nice and all, but the only guarantee in the NBA is money, and he will get starter minutes, really nice situation for him when comparing the start of last season imo. Plus, the Magic need locker room leaders and vets, much better to have him in that role than Ben Gordon, that's for sure. :skip:

I completely forgot he had heart problems. i got nothing against Frye for taking that money but the magic are just burning money this offseason

:wtf: I thought Nicholson was improving and was gonna be their stretch 4, guess Magic have given up on him with this signing.

Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
So McRoberts is the only big they're going to sign?

They'll get Jordan Hill for the vet minimum.

Anyone know if they changed the rules to the matching process. I remember Houston did it with Lin offering him a big chunk at end of contract so Knicks couldnt match it.

A few Floors Down from the Daily Grind
The current system has that salary floor too though, so Orlando couldn't just be the Houston Astros of ball either. So when marquee names aren't coming to you, and you can't find the right trading partners, you end up overpaying mediocre FA's.

They are gonna get billed to 90% of the cap whether they spend it or not, so might as well get some players for it.

That would be the best case scenario for sure :ld: I'd prefer Miller over Morrow tho :manny:

I would prefer Miller to but don't know if he would leave Memphis for the min since last I heard that's what they were offering him. Hell at this point Morrow might want more than a min deal.

Don't think the salary number is a huge deal it's just way too long.

They drafted Gordon, Payton, and oladipo... All three really good defensive players, so it makes sense to surround them with perimeter shooters

It may be some unwritten code amongst GM's to not do that but that shyt would be brilliant. Strike while they're begging other free agents and make them respond.

Exactly if I was Orlando I would of flung a contract at him...while teams are caping for Melo.
