Can anyone explain why Oregon is ahead of Ole Miss and Tamu?

The only marquee teams that have an opening late in the season like that are the SEC teams. But they too busy scheduling Coastal Missouri International.ND doesn't necessarily need to join a conf.
But they schedule these early big games and hopefully catch other teams off guard in week 1 or 2.
They need to find a later season slot to play a big game, this way the committee can judge them on something recent vs a game dang near in August
Don't know where they're going but I'm sure it'll be a classic

Not happening. If anything, push them to invest more $$ in their football program.Fair or not.. this is gonna put pressure on them to join a league.
Correct and always has beenthis was a TV decision. Remember how ESPN coverage of the last two title games have lagged because the participants have been Fox and NBC properties. It’s a TV decision. Not a played their way in or deserved their way in.
I wonder if this were to happen say ... 3/4 times in the next 5 years.. would that make them re-think things? Not happening. If anything, push them to invest more $$ in their football program.

I mean they’re kinda betting on the 5 ACC games they play a year will yield a big win. The probably is that the expanded ACC brought over garbage to dilute the schedulingND doesn't necessarily need to join a conf.

The mega conferences means that either big ooc games or conference chips will be sacrificed. This current playoff format Puts both of them in jeopardy.with the SEC expanding to 9 conference games now, there's no point of any SEC team scheduling a big oo conf game.

But do you really think JMU can win the college football NATIONAL TITLE?
The answer is no. So thennext question is, what are we doing here?
Just giving teams a chance to likely get blown out on a national stage?
This is the NIL era so getting exposure doesn't mean anything anymore like it did when Boise St won the
