Honestly I don't think babyfaces need the briefcase. It's a heel move to cash in. :yeshrug:

It depends on the type of face. I look at MITB as a mechanism where the ideal holder is ready to take that next step or has had opportunities few and far between, but most of those chances get fukked up by someone who has nothing to do with the situation.

LA Knight isn't a face that ducks smoke. He isn't portrayed as an underdog type. I can easily see him being the type to tell the champion ahead of time "This shyt is happening today, YEAH" and that would be that. It would also make sense for him to say "I saw an opening. I took it. If you have a problem with it, get yourself a rematch and I'll be waiting."

I have no problem with a face who doesn't get a ton of opportunities to take the sneak attack role. especially given that there's a lot of face talent that in theory would have had reigns already if some outside entity didn't screw it up for them when they had their shot. For faces with MITB, the important part is how you book them after the fact.

I.E. you have to book them as if they could have ALWAYS been that breh/brehette had they just gotten a fair chance in the first place. They win on their merit, as opposed to someone like Jey Uso, whose title matches thus far all have had interference.

For a heel, what's important is that they become champion. Details on how they won it or how long they held it be damned.

For a face, what's important is what kind of champion they were after winning it. Details on how they won it be damned (as faces generally don't have long runs with the title).

Likely not. But it's easier, in a way, to make sense of it once it's accepted that Rollins is HHH.

That's my fundamental issue with him winning MITB. The WWE should always be in the business of making plays for its future when it comes to talent, and the MITB is a prime mechanism to elevate a talent on the cusp or to reintroduce an established talent who has refreshed their schtick, thus providing a refreshed player in the main event scene.

Rollins literally just had a World Championship match with Jey almost a month ago to the day, and was portrayed as having the shyt won if not for Punk and Zayn. Why would I give a talent with his level of equity a "free pass" to that when no one would bat an eye to "Winner of GUNTHER/Jey sees Seth at Night of Champions"?

They could have pulled the trigger on LA Knight or even Solo Sikoa instead.

TBH, I'd rather have seen Logan Paul with the briefcase than Seth. But with Seth's current gimmick, story-wise I get it.
Honestly, Rollins would be interesting if uses to cash in on the Undisputed title after he wins the World Heavyweight championship through traditional means.

A real original idea with the MITB right there.

The way I would do it.... Punk or Cody beat Cena in his Boston Farewell match. Rollins cash in on Punk/Cody.

I think they'd like to avoid the Roman Reigns situation.

I also think if Rollins did that, he'd be an ultra-hypocrite. And yes, he's a heel now so hypocrisy is fine, but one thing he's never wavered on regardless of alignment is his displeasure on how Reigns had a stranglehold on the sport because he controlled both titles (and how he did it) and thus the show he was on had nothing to strive for.

Admittedly, it's easily explained away if he just says "I just hated the fact I didn't think of it first."

That said, I would love someone to take their sweet ass time with MITB and almost have it to where they don't carry the case around often so the viewers who don't follow day for day damn near forget that the MITB winner IS THE MITB WINNER. They can work to win the Royal Rumble or EC, get their shot and use MITB as a failsafe to ensure they leave a Mania as champion.

Well, we have a King of the Ring tournament coming up to decide the SummerSlam contender. We know they running back Cena vs. Rhodes.

I wouldn't be shocked if Rollins gets in the tournament.

It would be very sensitive to fake getting fired when others got fired on the same day. I am choosing to believe he got fired and they made a pivot

It's clear as day. The talent wouldn't have been this emotional if it was just an angle and they wouldn't work the locker room by doing a storyline releasing one of the most beloved figures in the company. Not to mention how insensitive a staged release storyline would be.

Can't believe people even thought for a second it was all a work :mjlol:

Wrestlers in general aren’t good enough actors to pull that type of emotion off lmao. Not everyone can be salmon jacket Mark Henry
