Yea, A.I. is pretty darn good at creating code, tracking numbers, using well established forecasting formulas, etc. It is only going to get better at this with time. Heck, even Medical Doctors are on a clock, if they are not very specialized or surgeons. A lot of white collar jobs may be replaced in the near future for sure, if A.I. continues to grow in use and become more effective.

There are still segements of the economy that are quite A.I. proof though, like Nursing for one. So there are other pathways, but always keep in mind that those who are seeking to reduce labour costs to help maximize revenue and profits will continue to find a means to do it. A.I. is just the new rising way of accomplishing it.

its amazing how many people learned completely useless shyt to work cushy jobs for these companies

its not that hard to develop your own program. if they actually knew how to do anything useful with a computer, they would.

i grew up super poor so the only time i got to see computers were ancient apple ][s and windows 3.11 machines at school. a relative on the other side of the family gave me a hand-me-down mac performa and i mastered that thing. we got lucky got got a $9.95/mo unlimited 14.4k dialup (fukk us robotics modems) to earthlink about 30 miles away so i got to see the internet. by the time i was in high school they had dells with windows xp with novell logon access. those things sucked. i think the public library computers still used windows 98. i vaguely knew linux existed but never tried it until 2006.

what im saying is computers are best as a hobby. the internet should've never been monetized. it was better when people made their own websites. the explosions of smartphones/internet access made every retard get online and share their opinion. it ruined the world. it has caused countless deaths.

these people dont really like computers they just kinda did it because it wasnt that hard (it isnt, im half retarded).

i feel zero sympathy for them.

people hate tech workers

People hate government workers

People hate financial workers

People hate lawyers/judges

People love athletes

People love entertainers

Much of it is spawned from jealousy and resentment, I guess all the goodwill towards each other from the pandemic has been spent and now we are being hateful and classist.

I hate the erosion of the working and middle class...

As for the OP, when you unemployed for a long time, years or longer, employers think there is something wrong with you and smell the desperation.

I run my own business

There's a very good chance I make more than you by a good amount

So please stop with the new age coping wave of calling anyone who criticizes you jealous.

U know how aggravating it is living around people who thumb their nose at anyone without a college degree, when they make less than I do? Live in the same neighborhood, my house and cars paid for. Mr. Degree over here struggling with his mortgage and car notes. U not better than anybody simply because you got a degree, I'm basically retired and only work certain weekends in party/festival environents, why in the world would I want to go to school? I won

And here u go again, throwing a sly diss at truck drivers and others who drive for a living. They still hiring like crazy so I guess they are kind of hard to come by. I work sometimes as a private driver, professional with a suit and tie. Make over 100 an hr doing that for dedicated customers, and that's a side job. People pay for good work

If tech people are so smart, why are we having a conversation in a thread about one of your own being forced to Uber+door dash while he lives in a trailer. Yeah that sounds real fukking smart :martin:

Don't get me wrong , your speaking in a polite manner, but you're also displaying the same arrogance and looking down at people mannerisms that I'm speaking against

Remember when they said all the workers at McDonald's would be fired and I just need someone to maintain the machines? Nope, didn't work. They getting rid of all u overpaid techies, and u watch what I say. In 5 yrs, their just gonna need someone in your offices maintaining the computers, your skills will be irrelevant.

U all wanted to computers to replace people

Well they are gonna replace u first

And my blue collar self will laugh at the upcoming techies crying about work

Remember the milkman

Evolve or die
Regardless of your success, you sound very bitter.

I hope the tone of your posts aren’t an indication of how you interact with the real world. Otherwise, I’m afraid the success you’ve achieved may not be enjoyed the as much as it could be.

I can’t imagine being happy about the struggle of people I don’t even know.

The demographic I'm speaking on were celebrating the very idea of people such as myself being unable to earn a living. Said we deserved it for not having a degree in computers

The tables have turned, the same industry that went to work with the goal of replacing American workers with AI ended up replacing themselves

I have no mercy

I don't recall seeing any compassion or empathy

It was "we used to have milkmen, but that went out of business, so the milkmen had to adjust and move into different careers. Evolve or die"

"They should have got an education"

"Learn new skills or die like the dinosaurs"

I know software engineers in real life and they are all pompous, arrogant a$$holes who think they're smarter than anybody who they perceive makes less money.

Automation and AI were supposed to eliminate all the low level paying jobs, from fast food to warehouses, and no one in your industry had concerns about the welfare of these people being pushed out of work

Reality is these jobs are way harder and not worth the cost to automate than previously thought, it's the computer workers and liberal arts people who's work is so damn simple the computer can do it without you. You all literally trained your replacements thinking it would impact the next person, not yourself

U had software engineers employed by Microsoft/Facebook who did YouTube videos bragging about how they don't hardly do anything all day and make all this money. Waking up 3 hours early cause u work in California and report to a base in Virginia is a "stressful day"

So since so many of you are so goddamn smart, shouldn't have problems learning new skills and thriving correct :mjlol:

Good majority of u techies have no other skills in life outside of the piece of paper u went to school for

They plan to replace all of you within 5 yrs

This is what y'all asked for, people being put out of work due to AI

No sympathy

I'm laughing at the tears

Learn new skills or die like the dinosaurs
I'm not cheering for people getting fired, but I definitely remember people saying that all these 'low skilled low wage' jobs would get automated and a lot of white collar/tech people did kinda not give a fukk about it. I do remember people saying just learn new skills or they need to go get a degree or a cert. Now a decade later degrees aint really shyt, and a cert just leads to you having to get another cert on top of another cert inevitably to not be able to keep up. I remember the facebook, twitter, youtube videos of people bragging how easy it was to work at some of these companies and how little work they actually did. Meanwhile my blue collar electrician ass has to turn down jobs every fukking day because there is a massive shortage of us and AI can't really replace me like that... at least not yet I'm gonna be close to dead by the time it maybe can so oh well at that point not my problem anymore. All I'm gonna say is a lot of people did turn their nose up at folks who they felt like were 'uneducated' or 'low skilled' and look at how the tables have turned. Be careful when you throw around disrepsect, because disrespect has a way of creeping back up on you and knocking you on your ass when you least expect it.
