I listen to may coworkers say dumb shyt like .."I'm broke, can't buy lunch till tomorrow" :dwillhuh:

I'm gonna put this *insert $300 item here* on layaway:dwillhuh:

I get paid tomorrow... But im :coffee:.. Car note's paid, rent's paid, bills paid, and pantry on fleek.. There's nothing I needed/wanted that I couldn't grab between the last paycheck and tomorrow..
Feels good man. My dad phone broke so I just went and copped him a 6s plus with no worries. Paid full price in cash and copped a MacBook Air while I was there lol.

Yeah I think the large majority of people live check to check. Its hilarious too cause if they just had some self control they wouldn't be in a hole. "The governments holding me back":mjlol:

These stats be leaving out factors such as people with kids, child support, debt, and take home income.

Savings Accounts are a joke. Why keep one when the return on Interest is a pathetic 0.02% or less for a basic account, and BOA charges $10 for overdraft protection?

I keep my money in checking (1.5k minimum), charge everything to my card and pay it off in full every month. My I get hundreds in rewards every year as opposed to less than $20 for Savings.
You just dropped the whole game with this one, I try explaining this to people and they don't get it.

I mean... that number is kinda misleading.

I wouldn't expect most people under 18 to have over a grand saved. What percentage of Americans is that?

But overall, I call bs. 62% of Americans don't have $1k in the world? :rudy: Does that even sound right?
idk seems about right. I know so many people my age, living check to check , only taking home <$600 a week.....

People that have trouble saving should work everyday to keep themselves occupied. Most of the time people are spending money out of boredom. They'll hit up the clubs or mall on weekends and blow their paycheck. Harder to do that if you at work or tired from work by nightfall.

i had homies who used to spend their entire checks every week until i drilled it into their heads how important it is to give yourself a financial cushion and how it gives you extra confidence from the feeling of security & safety you get as result.

every single one of them told me after they had started saving that they had no idea how much better they feel about themselves and their outlook on life just by having a little something stashed away.

its an amazing feeling brehs
:blessed:

What do they define as a savings account?

Traditional savings accounts aren't offering any interest so the only rationale to having money in there is to seperate your funds. If you can be disciplined about what's in your checking account then it doesn't matter.

Up until a few months ago I hadn't had a savings account since high school. I always either kept money in my checking account and in stocks/mutual funds. I recently changed because I felt I had too much of my funds in securities and wanted to reduce my risk in the market.
