Same situation for me. Literally everyone in my family, immediate and extended knows nothing about finance and has never invested.nobody growing up taught me about finances.
Now im in a much better place. But I wish I'd have started early in my 20s.

I was 29 years old when I read an article about Visa's IPO that got me interested in finance. I went back to school and got an Accounting degree and I'm in a much better place now. I think back about all the things I missed out on. I'd be sitting real good if I had started my Roth IRA when I was young!
Really the only two people I know who are truly good with the little bit of money they make are hardcore hustlers, younger women who have been near-homeless before with irresponsible parents, and are trying to avoid that fate in the future.
One of them has a drug problem, and even then is still saving a huge chunk of money from both of her jobs. The other works 2 jobs while in school full-time, paid for her car in full, ad refuses to get a credit card or take out any loans.
Those are incredibly rare people, especially in the Black community.
I know I try to put the majority of my money away in either savings accounts or in investments, but I don't make much, so its difficult to do.
