I’m an AEW fan but let’s be honest, it’s always been PWG with a big budget and national deal. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Cody tried to make it something else but this is pretty much Khan and The Elite boys vision.

The Elite guys have always been about long term stories that dabble in middle school theater so yeah, I'm shocked their biggest show only has 1 angle with any sort of deep and long story (Cage vs Jungle Boy) and all the title matches have been thrown together at the last minute.

Yes, AEW has always been the "super indy with national TV and big budget", but they have not booked their PPVs around that appeal since All In, before the company even started.
