Unless they gonna drop you some bonus money but thats up to you. Other than that

that's what got me was the bonus money since i got atleast 24 credits haha.

i might even have 48 credits for the pv1, i gotta pay my old college 650 to get my unofficial transcript to be sure smh

Yo I got a question, instead of going for a degree after you get out, can you take classes while you're in? I already have an associates. Figure I stay 4-6 years and take me time with online classes I'll have a bachelor's when I'm out

Speaking of associate's degree, where would they start me off at? E3? E4?


Also how are the reserves? Could you join afterwards?

Aim for 50 or better on the ASVAB. Dont try to fukk hoes at MEPS, and familarize yourself with San Antonio. Stop smoking weed at least a month before youre scheduled to ship out. And take everything your recruiter says with multiple grains of salt. And for the love of God, if you find yourself getting kicked out or separated, dont get a bad conduct discharge aka big chicken dinner. shyt is almost as bad as a dishonorable discharge and itll fukk over any veteran's preferences on a job app post service.

I might've missed it, but one thing no one spoke about is saving money. How much did y'all end up saving? How much can you save in 4-6 years? It'd be nice to have a down payment for a nice house + 1 year emergency funds

Also what's so special about veteran's insurance and savings account? Heard somebody talking about that before.

Different branches offer differ things and are for different people but man I personally couldn't do Army or Marines. They treat their low ranking enlisted like shyt.

I'd rank the branches: 1A-Air Force, 1B-Coast Guard, 3-Navy, 4-Marines, 5-Army

Depends on the branch and your command.

My command had tuition assistance which basically meant you could pay for classes online or go into college courses if you had time while on active duty but you could only get it at E4 and above.

You can also use your GI bill during active duty but most don’t recommend that.

They could start you wherever it is in your recruitment contract to start you as. Idk how every branch works.

Im not reservist so idk, some friends are and they seem to like it. Yes you can go full duty while in reserves if you like.

Im just nervous about going in and then not getting an IT job, i mean they'll train me well Im sure in whatever I do but still
