There are only 5 or 6 arguably elite QB's and only 5 or 6 guys that are complete trash, I consider the ones in between to be some form of game manager to varying degrees, which is not a dirty word to me. Again Matt Cassel imo, is trash, if Alex Smith and Andy Reid can get these guys to 8-8 they will likely make that playoffs in such a bad division, save the Broncos, who will likely be unable to duplicate last years success but still go 10-6 or 11-5. KC has the running game, and many good pieces on defense, they just need some more weapons and Alex Smith will make a good placeholder till that guy comes in next years draft.

It depends what your definition of game manager is because I don't think 20 QB's in the league are game managers.

I saw someone in here call Aaron Rodgers a "game manager" :wtf:

it was me.

I despise the negative connotation of 'game manager' which is prevalent in stupid ass media, when a qb's main job is to manage the game in the first place.

the connotation seem to stem from a thought that not a big playmaker=game manager

I understand your thought that all QBs "manage the game", its the nature of the position. But you are misinterpreting the nature of the term by using it to describe an elite QB. A game manager is a qb who can only look decent with major help to cover up his deficiencies.

I'm not misinterpreting shyt. I know what people mean when they say game managing qb. And again, I take offense to that term because the qbs purpose is to manage the game. Another deragatory term is 'dink and dunk', as if throwing 10 passes for 4 yards each is any worse than throwing one for 40. So u have ppl like trip who will never admit pennington or garcia were good qbs because they had meh arms and couldn't throw lasers.

You are literally the only person I've ever seen call Chad Pennington a good QB to this day. Pennington's arm was a joke. This bizarre pillage youre on against arm strength and big plays is getting stupid.

Your take on how the game is played, and how teams are winning football games is way off. It is an offense driven league built behind QB's who can stretch the field and make smart passes.

Chunk yardage plays are essential to winning football consistently in the NFL. It's not a bad thing to accept. You've been saved from Alex Smithy anyway.
