And the cost of living up here is insane. If I didn’t already have a condo here, I would’ve never came back.
Even when I lived in Charlotte, you can see rental prices starting to go up.
And where you live is important. Your zip code determine what schools your kids go to, how much your car insurance will be, and your overall quality of life.
The problem with North Jersey, is you’re paying $1,300 is a 200 sq ft studio apartment in a building.

A lot of people complain about property taxes in NJ, but like 50% of it goes to public schools. It's good to actually see where ur money is going, cause we have some of the best public schools in the nation. Education shouldn't be just be for the rich. I've lived in other states and you question whe the money goes, and then to add to the public schools are usually 1-3 out of 10.It’s not click bait. It’s a real person.

He in Ghana. With is two other wives.
It’s kind of a sad situation. I used to date her sister. They have 2 different mothers. When they moved here her sister came finished high school, went to college and now she’s making six figures.
She didn’t come here until she finished primary school (she’s the oldest), and she didn’t go to college right away. So she struggled. And her sisters mother didn’t like her.
But she worked and went to school eventually so she could get better paying jobs. When she finally go one, COVID it and she got furloughed, then lost her job all together. And it took a long time for her to find this job.
Eventually her sisters wife convinced her dad fo kick her out last year. Been living with her aunt ever since.

COVID fukked her credit up as she maxed out credit cards just to pay bills. She’s living with family and finally bounced back landing a job making 72k 3 months ago.
But every apartment she applied for denied her because of her credit score. So now she looking for apartments in bad areas.
These property managers be on bullshyt. And on top of that she wasted bread on application fees. I credit score is in the 500’s.
Your credit score counts against you when trying to get an apartment, but paying your rent on time doesn't improve your credit score. But if you don't pay your rent it hurts your credit score.

An 8.5 is much more than "solid".
That being said, even with an 800 score, getting an apartment on 72K/year here is an uphill battle. This isn't new.
