I don't know if it's been mentioned, but it's definitely worth noting that Lowry and Derozan were shooting/playing very poorly until they played Cleveland. Both were shooting WELL under 40% heading into the conference finals. Lowry wound up shooting 47%/35% and Derozan shot 50%.

If that's any indicator of Cleveland's perimeter defense going into this series...yikes.

As of last round they were the worst defense standing, masking it by playing the slowest pace of the remaining 8 teams

I think Clevelands defense was good to be honest. They do a great job switching , going under screens and their hands /legs are very active. The two home games were an anomaly and simply a result of Lowry/Derozan playing up to their actual talent. But you saw what happened in game 6 and when they were at home.

Cleveland's defense is a big part of why i said OKC would have no chance beating them. They would've lost in 6.

They won 67 games last year...it's not like these dudes went from lottery bound to contender status. They won 6 more games than they did last year in a West that was SIGNIFICANTLY weaker than previous years.
- Portland had to completely retool after losing every starter except Lillard and a huge star in Aldridge and completely overachieved this year.
- Memphis took a significant step back and got mauled by injuries to the point where they were strolling a D-League starting 5 onto the court.
- New Orleans got worse in every aspect and Anthony Davis didn't take the leap people expected.
- Houston was flat out terrible after being in the WCF last year.
- Clippers were marred with injuries pretty much the whole season and overachieved.

The conference was so bad that the 8th seed in the East would've been like a 4th or 5th seed out West, and they allowed 2 teams to win 67+ games with the other being San Antonio--a group of guys who were obviously paper champs based on how they got dominated by OKC.

GS' defense is actually worse than last year and offensively they're less versatile as they've become more Curry/Klay-centric. But luckily Curry has answered the call by providing more scoring.

GS' "leap" is greatly exaggerated. The only true leap that happened was that of Stephen Curry and while I'm not denying his improvement more than anything breh just got a bigger green light.

And the Cavs record is deceiving. They started out the season without Kyrie, Shump, or Frye and when Kyrie and Shump came back they were rusty for quite some time before they re-gelled. With all that, they still won 57 games, in a tougher conference, despite what the Coli wants you to believe. This is a 65 minimum win team at full strength. It's a lot closer than people think.

Eastern Conference is the worst and if you insert Rockets Grizzles even with injuries, Pelicans, Clippers in the east they riding on everybody Cleveland included. The west is just better and Lebron is great but part of his 6 final failures is playing no competiiton in East breh. Raptors wont even be a top 5 seed in the West fam.

They got better, but I also saw weaknesses against OKC. You can't overstate the downgrade the Cavs went through last year. Your 2nd and 3rd best player? Thats the '90's Bulls without Pippen and Rodman. The '80's Lakers without Worthy and Byron Scott. The '80's Celtics without Mchale and Parrish. Huge downgrades.

I am not even going to address this. Kyrie Love equals Pippen or that much of a impact. nikka go sit down.

Cavs are better too but they didnt play a team like OkC. This past series for GS was a blessing as OkC from top to bottom is better than Cavs. Breh Cavs struggled against Raptors fam fukking Raptors

If the Cavs want to play a shootout like they have their entire playoff run, then Warriors in 5. Love and Frye are going to get torched on D (specifically on Curry pick and roll), and you're betting on outshooting the Warriors for 4 games?

If the Cavs want to play more of a slugfest like last year's Finals (more Delly and TT, and slowing the pace) then maybe we are talking...
Lue needs to manage Lebron's minutes because he is the only glaring matchup advantage and they don't need him wearing down again. Lebron also needs to be open to playing some center in crunch time lineups. Will he hit his free throws or his outside shot? Warriors are definitely going to bait him to shoot jumpers, and probably hack him a bit and live with 60% free throw shooting.

I also think the Cavs' psyches are in danger of caving in if the going gets tough. They haven't been mentally tough all year and the only minor adversity they faced in the playoffs this year was losing two games in Toronto, a team everyone knew they outmatched. Lebron might choke out Kevin Love if he doesn't bring it. They might end up having to throw Love in the bushes to be honest. Kyrie, Delly, JR, Bron, Frye/TT.

On the other side, Warriors just have to play their game and adjust accordingly. Start Bogut on TT and gang rebound. If TT's athleticism is too much for him like last year's Finals then try Ezeli or go small. I have a hard time believing the Cavs defense and rebounding will be tougher then the athleticism and length that the Thunder offered. I think the "Death Lineup" is about to feast in this series.
