nikka Adele just sold 5 mi in 2 weeks or some shyt.....none of the people you named did that shyt

Yes but Adele's last album sold what, 11 million? Eminem sold over ten million twice. DMX sold 5-6 mill, Jay had an album sell like 6mill, Nelly had an album sell like 8 mill, Outkast went diamond, Pac went diamond, Biggie went diamond.

There's absolutely no question that the hip-hop artists of the past had a larger fanbase even in considering piracy/streaming they still had a bigger fanbase. It is what it is.

I've never heard that 'Hello' song in full, yet somehow it's stuck in my head:mindblown:

I can't explain it, and I'm not trying to hate, but there's something:demonic:this.

It's crazy that despite all the backing of transnational corporations that Drake received, his last album still only managed to sell 375,000 first week and isn't even gold yet. The media are trying to make him bigger than he really is, especially when you compare him to Adele.
Apples and oranges. Adele appeals to entirely different demographics. Taylor Swift fans like her, the moms of Taylor Swift fans love her.

Did a little research because it amazes me how she's selling so much.

Found out she is not streaming the album on Apple music or Spotify. Here audience probably do not have savvy to pirate as well.

For those who know what it is, try searching "Adele" in SLSK. Not a single song will come up. Her strategy is much bigger than declining to stream. It is a multi-layered approach that has been well planned and executed.

funny to note that drake is trying to compete with a fat white british woman more than people puttin up bars better than his in any universe and still can't compete on either front in quality or sales :mjlol:

Apples to oranges man, Drake drives a whole culture. Drake can sell so many more products than just music, Adele could too but not like Drake. Adele could sell make up and weight loss products to middle aged women. After the Hotline Bling video the sales for the Moncler jacket he had on skyrocketed and that was for a $1200 jacket with no mention of what it even was.

Exactly. Adele shyt is dry wafer music and her only bread and butter source. No one is copping clothes/gear or any other product because she says so. Paula Deen got the fat white bytch piglet market on lock as far as pushing product goes and Adele would have to look like fukkin Kylie Jenner if she wanted to push anything more than CDs. So all her eggs are in the music basket.

Eh what? Transnational companies backing him? He has a deal with Apple, has some endorsement and is signed to Universal. Nas is signed to the same label and "backed" by Coca Cola too, why isn't he moving 3 million first week? Drake is doing first week what people like Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez do in total with what he labels as mixtapes. Just cause a Burger King intern tweets about his beef with Meek doesn't mean that they are backing him. Just like, Cole having a deal with Bally or Nike doesn't mean that he'll move a significant amount of units more than he would without them.

And Drakes last album sold 700k first week , which was the most anyone sold in 2013 after JT and Beyoncé. I hate how cats compare people to one of the biggest of all times and act like if you're not on the same level you are overrated and actually not that big.

Drake is one of the perhaps 10 biggest artists, no one has claimed that he is the Beatles of today. Even in hiphop we still have Eminem. In black music we have Beyoncé. Depending on how you measure success we can also add Rihanna. We have 1-2 country acts, 2-3 culture vultures and 2-3 pop stars who are all as huge or bigger. All have deals and except Taylor no one is close to touching Adele, they are all in Drakes region, probably with more deals and more media publicity.

Well he is two mixtapes one sold 500k first week and the other sold 375k first while Kendrick only sold 100k first week and was complaining saying the west coast don't support his music. Stop comparing them
Now we just flat out lying?:mjlol:

What a time to be alive sold 334K first week,it sold 375K with that streaming shyt added in.

To pimp a butterfly sold 324K first week and 368K with that streaming bullshyt added in.

:camby: funny how you conveintly use the streaming+sales number for drake and know what it is exactly and then somehow pull a number thats not even a 1/3 of what kendrick actually sold.
